13Thirteen comprises of a dedicated team of experienced parents who aim to empower and equip modern mums and dads with the knowledge and tools they need to be confident parents on-the-go, through education and by offering a wide range of ergonomic baby carriers for rent and sale. We also design our own line of lightweight, functional and ergonomic diaper backpacks that conveniences the modern parent. At 13Thirteen, we believe that skin-to-skin, breastfeeding and babywearing are crucial in shaping the bond between parent and child. This is why we encourage skin-to-skin and Babywearing right from the very start. To cater to different parents’ needs, lifestyles and budget, we offer various types of baby carriers from a wide range of reputable brands. To us, there is no “best” carrier - it is about finding a baby carrier that suits you best. Our in-house Certified Babywearing Educator and Lactation Counsellor, Rynette, is a mother of 4, and offers private and group consultations to help parents learn the knowledge and skills to parent confidently. Preparing for a new arrival is such an exciting chapter, but the anxiety around breastfeeding and all those first-time mom questions can feel a bit much.

That rock-hard, heavy feeling when your milk first comes in can catch you completely off guard especially when everyone around you has a totally different opinion on what you should be doing. It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed trying to sort out old-school confinement advice from modern science while you’re already exhausted and sore.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone or guess your way through the pain. If things are getting too uncomfortable or your little one is struggling to latch, drop us a DM. We’re right here to walk you through it and help you find some real relief.

Hand expressing shouldn’t mean pulling on your ni**le! 😵‍💫

There’s a technique to it, and a little preparation can make a difference.

Before hand expressing, start with a gentle breast massage, including the ar**la, to stimulate milk flow. Then it’s all about getting your finger placement and compression right.

No pulling. No dragging. And definitely no trying to “milk” the ni**le. 😂

Hand expression is such a useful skill to learn before baby arrives, whether you’re expressing colostrum antenatally (when appropriate) or milk after birth.

That creamy, white coating on your newborn may be something you weren’t expecting to see, but vernix is actually there for a reason. 🤍
Vernix is a natural protective layer that develops on your baby’s skin before birth. It helps protect their delicate skin and supports their transition from the womb to the outside world.

Yes, it’s a thing! Here’s Jeremy teaching parents how finger feeding with a syringe works during our WoW Prenatal & Parenting Workshop. It’s one of the many practical newborn skills we want parents to actually see and practise, not just hear about.

Because sometimes, Plan A changes. And it helps to know your options!

Choosing a baby carrier can honestly feel a bit overwhelming. Between different buckles, wraps, rings, and terms you’ve never heard before, it’s completely normal to wonder: Am I going to buy the wrong one?

Here is the truth nobody tells you: There is no single “best” carrier out there there is only the best one for you, your body, and your baby.

What feels like an absolute dream for your friend might feel totally awkward on your frame, and that is okay! Babywearing is a journey of trial and error, and it can take a little time to figure out what clicks (literally and figuratively) for your daily routine.

Whether you’re rocking a newborn to sleep at 2:00 AM or trying to corral a busy toddler while running errands, we see you, we know how much physical energy it takes, and we want you to know you are not alone in this.
