This is one of the most common worries we hear from new moms. And it makes complete sense. You cannot see how much milk your baby is taking when they latch the way you can with a bottle. So you are left guessing and second guessing yourself at every single feed.

Here is what to look for:

👉 Swallowing during the feed.
You should be able to hear and maybe even see your baby swallowing during a feed. Short rapid sucks at the start are normal as they bring the milk in. Once you have a letdown, you will notice longer slower rhythmic sucks. That is a good sign.

👉 Wet and dirty nappies.
This is one of the most reliable indicators. By day 7, should have at least 6 wet nappies in 24 hours. Dirty nappies vary more but in the early weeks most breastfed babies will dirty their nappy frequently. If nappies are dry or very infrequent that is worth paying attention to.

👉 Weight gain.
Babies lose a little weight in the first few days after birth. This is normal. By day 10 to 14 most babies are back to their birth weight. Steady weight gain after that is one of the clearest signs feeding is going well.

👉 Your baby seems settled after feeds.
Cluster feeding and fussy periods are normal and do not always mean hunger. But generally a baby who is getting enough will have periods of contentment between feeds.

👉 Your breasts feel different before and after a feed.
Fuller before, softer after. Not every mom feels this strongly especially as supply regulates but it is still a useful sign to pay attention to in the early weeks.

💡 Pro tip: Breast size and how often you feel engorged are not reliable indicators of supply. Some moms never feel full and are producing more than enough. Do not use this alone to judge whether your baby is getting milk.

If you are reading all of this and still not sure, that is exactly what a lactation consultation is for. We look at the full picture together. The feed, the latch, the nappies, the weight, your history. And we give you a clear answer instead of leaving you guessing.

It is completely normal to feel “clueless” when preparing for a new arrival. The range of topics can be huge!

We love hearing how our WoW Prenatal Workshop helped Joel and his wife move from uncertainty to a true sense of confidence. Our goal is always to deliver deep, practical content in a way that is creative, concise, and easy to digest.

For us, the support doesn’t end when the workshop does. We are always here to help you navigate the complexities of parenthood, including post-delivery support like breastfeeding.

Thank you, Joel, for the 11/10 recommendation! Helping parents feel prepared for delivery and beyond is exactly why we do what we do.

One moment the feed is going fine and the next milk is coming out of your baby’s nose and you are frozen not knowing if this is normal or if you need to act fast.

Here is what we know.
👉 Most of the time it is harmless.
Milk coming out of a baby’s nose is usually just reflux or an overactive letdown where the flow was too fast for your baby to manage. Their airway and food passage are very close together in the early months and spillover happens. It looks scarier than it is.
👉 Here is what to do in the moment.
✅ Stay calm. Your baby can feel your panic.
✅ Sit your baby upright and let the milk drain naturally. Do not tilt their head back.
✅ Gently wipe the nose. You do not need to suction unless your baby is clearly struggling to breathe.
✅ Let your baby guide you. Most babies will cough, sneeze or splutter the milk out on their own.
👉 Watch for these signs that need immediate attention.
✅ Baby is struggling to breathe or making unusual sounds
✅ Lips or face turning blue
✅ Baby is not recovering after a few seconds
✅ This is happening repeatedly at every feed

💡 Pro tip: If your letdown is very fast and this keeps happening, adjusting your feeding position can help. Laid back feeding or side lying reduces the force of your letdown and gives your baby more control over the flow.

Knowing how to stay calm and respond in moments like this is exactly what we cover at our Infant First Aid Workshop. Our trainer is a Registered Nurse who works in a paediatric clinic, and shared practical knowledge, based on real-life situations. A must know for every parent! Spots are limited.

Prefer something more personalised? We also offer private in home first aid sessions tailored to your baby and your home environment.

📩 DM us the word “IFA” and we will send you details on the next workshop or private session whichever works better for your family.
If you know a new parent who would feel more confident knowing what to do in moments like this, send this to them. 💛

Behind every “super-mom” is a partner who makes sure she doesn’t have to fly solo. 🤍

There is something about being truly *seen* that changes everything. Today was a reminder that while the days are full, the support system is even fuller. A surprise bouquet, a long hug, and the reminder: “You’re doing an incredible job.”

To the partners making sure Mom feels as celebrated as she is, we see you, too.

Happy Mother’s day to all, may your Mother’s Day be filled with moments that make you feel exactly like this.

Preparing for a new arrival is a huge chapter, and it’s completely normal to feel a bit overwhelmed.

We love hearing that our WoW Prenatal Workshop helped Clarissa find the clarity and reassurance she needed. From hands-on practice with baby gadgets to real-life sharing from our founders, Rynette and Jeremy, our goal is to make learning feel casual and relatable.
It’s especially rewarding to hear how seeing a father’s perspective helped this couple feel ready to share the load and take on this journey together.

Thank you, Clarissa, for the recommendation! Helping parents feel confident and supported is exactly why we do what we do.

Expectant parents, if you are still looking for a prenatal class, watch this first.

We know how many options are out there. We went through the same thing ourselves before having kids and we still remember trying to figure out which class was right for us.

That is why we built the WoW Workshop the way we did. Because we wished something like this existed when we were in your shoes.

Intentionally capped to a small group of 8 couples, you will not be sitting amongst the crowd listening to a lecture. You are in the room, taking part in experential learning, and understanding curated, relatable content alongside other couples who are in the exact same season of life as you.

In one session we cover:
✅ Labour positions, pushing and c-sections. Your partner practises how to support you when you are most vulnerable
✅ Breastfeeding positioning practice before baby arrives
✅ Different breast pumps and sizing so you are not figuring it out at 2am
✅ Diaper changes and swaddling with real-life tips, not just theory
✅ How to show up for each other in your individual roles through this whole journey

We are Rynette and Jeremy. Husband and wife. Parents of four. We bring both our professional experience and our real parenting life into every session because we know that is what actually helps.

Best attended between weeks 15 and 30. Already in your third trimester? Come anyway. We will make sure you leave with what you need before your baby arrives!

📩 DM us WOW and we will get you into the next available session. Know a couple who is expecting? Send this to them. 💛

From showing up for mums every day to showing up for ourselves tomorrow!

Thanks for gearing us up

See you at 💪🏻

30/03/2026

You just watched moms show up.

Not just as moms but as women doing more than one role at once.

One moment, we’re caring for our kids.
Another, we’re guiding another mom through breastfeeding.

And then we’re here… pushing through a station, out of breath, while others cheer us on.

That’s what this space is.

We don’t leave motherhood behind.
We build on top of it.

We support, we learn, we train, we grow together.

And on days when it’s hard to show up for yourself, someone else holds that energy for you.

Because you and I both know… it’s easy to keep putting yourself last.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

When we start choosing even a little bit of time for ourselves, it doesn’t take away from our families. It adds to who we are.

And when you’re around other moms doing the same, you start to believe you can too.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, burnt out, or just want to be around moms who actually get it - follow us!

We’re figuring this out, together 🤍
