Our AEI station in Chișinău has been growing since 2017. New customers, new challenges, more responsibility and a team that has grown along with it.

One of the people who has been part of that journey from the beginning is Viktor Atanasovski, our RMO Station Manager.

He joined AEI as a B1 Engineer in 2017. Since then, he has not only grown professionally, but has also helped build and develop our RMO station into what it is today.

But this story is not just about one person.

It is about the team in Chișinău. The engineers and colleagues who are there every day, supporting aircraft operations, solving unexpected situations and taking responsibility when it matters.

It is also a story about growing together.

For Viktor, one of the things that defines AEI is something we strongly believe in across the whole company: the right people, mutual respect and . And perhaps there is no better place to see those words in practice than at a station where people need to rely on each other every single day.

From the first days of RMO to engine changes, challenging pandemic years and the station’s continued growth – a lot has changed.

The people behind it remain the most important part of the story.

A first for AEI. See you at MRO Europe 2026!

This October, we’re heading to Amsterdam for a milestone in AEI’s journey - for the first time, we’ll be joining as an exhibitor.

For more than 15 years, AEI has been growing from its roots in aircraft maintenance into an international MRO partner, with teams supporting airlines across multiple locations in Europe.

✈️ The aircraft never stops. Neither does the work behind it.

For passengers, a flight often ends the moment the aircraft reaches the gate. But behind the scenes, another process is already underway. Inspections. Checks. Decisions. Coordination. Maintenance.

Much of the work that keeps an aircraft ready for its next flight happens away from passengers’ eyes – often within a very limited turnaround time.

So what actually happens between one flight and the next? And how much work takes place before an aircraft is ready to fly again?

15 years. Countless challenges. One journey with AEI. ✈️

When Jakub Brunovsky joined AEI, the company was only at the beginning of its story. He started by building Production Planning from the ground up. Today, he leads our Spare Parts Sales team and helps connect customers around the world with solutions they sometimes struggle to find anywhere else.

And sometimes, that means finding the almost impossible - like a spare part manufactured in 1972, the only available unit left in the world, which helped keep a Boeing 737 Classic flying.

In our latest interview, Jakub talks about what it was like to grow alongside AEI, why he has stayed for 15 years, what makes the aircraft spare parts business so unique, and why people and know-how still make the difference.

Leadership Also Starts with an Opportunity

AEI took part in the third edition of Young Leaders School 2026, a project organized by the Úrad komisára pre deti (Office of the Commissioner for Children). The project offered a week-long programme for selected young people from children’s homes, Roma communities, and Ukraine, focused on developing their skills, self-confidence, and leadership potential.

The week culminated in a discussion on leadership, joined by our CEOs, Branislav Cifra and Robert PILA. Together with the young participants, they talked about what it truly means to lead people, take responsibility, make decisions, and build a team.

They also shared experiences from their own journey and their perspective that leadership is not simply about a position or title, but above all about values and leading by example.

At AEI, we believe that potential can be found anywhere. That is why we believe in supporting initiatives that open new possibilities for young people, inspire them, and show them that where they start does not have to determine how far they can go.

We would like to thank the Office of the Commissioner for Children for the invitation, and all the young participants for their openness, thoughtful questions, and the energy they brought to the discussion.

87% of maintenance safety events start with one skipped step.

Most technicians in aviation maintenance know exactly what they're supposed to do. And yet, Failure to Follow Procedures (FFP) remains one of the leading causes of safety events in the industry — associated with up to 87% of cases, according to FAA data.

Why? It's usually not about a lack of knowledge. It's about pressure, about "I'll get away with doing it differently just this once," about the moment we choose speed over doing it right.

That's why we launched Safety Champ - an AEI campaign that tackles this issue head-on, without hunting for someone to blame. The first topic, Accountability, is already live. New ones will roll out every two weeks.

Last week, we welcomed ASA auditor Yuksel Bozkurt to AEI´s headquarters in Bratislava.

For us, membership in the Aviation Suppliers Association (ASA) means more than just a certificate displayed on our website. It is reflected in the daily work behind every aircraft spare part, from its documentation and traceability to the processes that ensure it reaches the customer reliably and in compliance with the required standards.

During the full-day audit, our documentation, quality processes and compliance with ASA requirements were thoroughly reviewed. The audit provided us with an opportunity to take a closer look at our processes, demonstrate our commitment to quality and identify areas where we can continue to improve.

While we are still awaiting the official audit results, we appreciate the opportunity to showcase our processes and engage in a constructive review that supports our commitment to continuous improvement.

We would like to thank Yuksel Bozkurt for her professionalism and valuable insights, as well as our AEI colleagues for their time, cooperation and professional approach throughout the audit.
