Widespread rain is expected across Thailand on June 2 as a strengthened southwest monsoon brings unstable weather conditions to many parts of the country.
Meteorologists warn that southern provinces along the Andaman coastline could experience the most severe weather, with intense downpours increasing the risk of flash flooding and runoff from higher ground.
At sea, rough conditions continue to affect both the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand. Waves are forecast to reach 2–3 metres, prompting authorities to advise sailors and fishing vessels to navigate carefully. Small boats operating in the upper Andaman Sea are urged to stay in port.
Forecasters predict rainfall coverage of up to 80% in western coastal areas, while central, eastern, and southern regions may see rain affecting around 60% of their territory. People living near rivers, canals, and flood-prone locations are encouraged to remain vigilant and follow local weather advisories throughout the day.
