Wat Umong (Suan Phutta Tham) is an ancient temple located in the west of Chiang Mai city, at the foot of Doi Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province, which is south of Chiang Mai University. King Mangrai of the Lanna Kingdom (reigned 1805–1854) built this temple. Its original name was "Wat Welukattharam" and the temple has undergone several renovations and name changes up until today.
