A trip to Montenegro with James …
Starting off in Dubrovnik, which is a beautiful city in itself we picked up our higher car ours being a sexy little red VW Up, and took the coastal Road heading for Koto.

We figured we would see what we find along the way which included a very cool cave spot where we all just wandered in to find a very good view of the sea road we were taking. Lots of abandoned buildings that would’ve been very beautiful back in their heyday so of course we had a little stop and explore, be rude not to!

We eventually made it to Koto which we learnt is called the city of cats as back in the day, Sailors used to have cats on their boats for rodents and apparently the story is many jumped ashore and now have made Kotor their permanent home so if you like pu***es, you are in for a treat 🐈‍⬛ 😉

Found some beautiful restaurants all along the beach front to enjoy morning and evening meals as well as an explore through the little cobblestone streets to find lots of interesting local shops as well as a hard rock café for Colin to spend all his money in LOL!

Of course we can’t come abroad and not go for a swim so we all took to the sea which wasn’t your usual beach. It was a beautiful marina which you could access the sea to buy a few sets of stairs. Unfortunately Colin lost one of his bracelets which to this day we never retrieved back even after all of us attempting to dive for it.

Of course, with it being beautiful weather, we made some time for sun catching!

Go and do that trip with your friends, hire a car and see where the days take you, sometimes the best trips are the unplanned ones with good company!

For Sara’s birthday in the middle of July last year, Colin arranged and took us to Amsterdam which was a lovely surprise. We spent the day cycling round as many know it’s the best form of transport over there or by canal boat. We decided to go for E bikes as we planned on seeing a lot of the city. It was really easy to find just like the bikes back home downloading app and away you go!

Being slightly obsessed with houseboats we saw so many beautiful ones with beautiful gardens down every canal you go there are so many houseboats which are now worth more than houses!

We couldn’t believe we spotted an XJ along with some other cool classic cars out there. We found some typical tourist things to do such as the cloggs have a drink with a pussycat and of course do a canal boat tour. There are many to choose from but the canals are beautiful over there so very much worth it and weren’t very expensive about €15 each.

And of course, Colin was forever doing a sticker drop so if you see The Bearded Explorer stickers out there now you know that he’s been there😂

There was so much more to see and do in Amsterdam, some that we can’t post about 😆 but would highly recommend just getting some bikes and cycling around to see the beautiful things this city has to offer!

Saint Marlo part 2…

Lots of things to explore in this old city we thought we’d share with you some of our stops!

Definitely check out the natural sea diving pool we watched someone diving in looked bloody cold but very majestic! Also a walk to the island Grand Bé which has an old cemetery and tomb we unfortunately didn’t have time to do this due to the tide we left it too late you only get a 3 hour window to walk it!

Lots of lovely little shops to explore in the old walled city, some lovely interior design shops which were out of our price range but lovely to enjoy for half hour or so to let our dinner go down 😆

Dinner at the Brasserie des
Voyageurs you are honestly spoilt for choice there are so many lovely traditional french restaurants but us being us on holiday we fancied burgers 🤣

Head to the Maison Hector Cafe they have a team of people making fresh waffles and crepes anything covered in chocolate you can’t walk past and not stop by!

A drink in the coolest bar/hotel I’Univers it’s full of sea catches by this we mean shark heads, puffa fish’s and tales of the seaman who we think is the owner travelling round the world, it’s bizzar but grab a drink and look around it’s actually so cool!

Sometimes it’s good to just get away spend some time together just, laughing, eating and drinking and taking in the day in a new place.

Saint-Malo trip…

After being told by Sara’s parents that they loved Saint-Malo a place we wouldn’t have given much thought, we decided to book a trip there!

We fancied something different so checked the types of travel there and found a mini 2 day cruise offer with Brittany ferries to Saint-Malo and back overnight crossing cabin and meal included for £145pp!

We booked the cheapest room as we new we wouldn’t spend much time there and would be off exploring the boat and having a few bevs 😜

They got us off the boat super early which we weren’t expecting but we managed to find a sweet little cafe and bakery in the walled city to wake up in!

With some time to kill we walked all of the walled city and headed out to the beaches which were beautiful! Despite the early start, we actually filled our day up with so much, so part 2 to follow if you want some restaurants and places to see in Saint-Malo!
