The past week we’ve been lucky with a few different wildlife encounters!

On Friday we visited Kui Buri National Park where we saw our first wild elephant in Thailand
Sam using a bench as a tripod to get the shots!
We also had a visit from this monitor lizard in the garden
Yesterday we did the hike to the Phraya Nakhon Cave where we encountered these adorable Dusky Langurs
The cave itself was really impressive, so much greenery and trees grow here

A country we love, that we have visited twice is Iceland. There is so much for nature and wildlife lovers to see here. Along the coast you can see whales, orcas and puffins during the summer months. We also recommend exploring the unique landscape here, from Thingvellir National Park where two tectonic plates meet to geysers to the Northern Lights!

Our favourite things to do in Iceland are:
Going whale watching in Akureyri and Husavik
Exploring the different waterfalls like Dettifoss and Seljalandsfoss
Relaxing in hot springs
Seeing the Northern Lights

On Saturday we visited Long Lay Market in Sam Roi Yot, which is a small Thai market on the beach. We brought waffles, an orange shake, chips and sweet potato balls here
Had a good old Sunday roast!
This week has had a mix of weather, from beautiful blue sky days to…
Big thunder storms!
Love the scenery around Sam Roi Yot national park with all of these peaks in the background
Also a lot of palm trees here which is always nice to see!

A little photo dump from the past week of solo travels in Thailand. I have been spending the past week and a half not feeling too well so didn’t see as much as I was hoping too! However Sam after some delays is on his way and hopefully we will do more when he is about!

1.The beautiful beach of Sam Roi Yot. Spending mornings admiring the landscape and birds.

2.Landscape of Sam Roi Yot National Park

3.Green curry on the beach 😍

4.Not been too many good sunsets so far but this one was pretty good

5.This microwaveable meal from 711 is about 40 baht and a really great veggie and vegan alternative!

An unexpected highlight of our trip to New York was an incredible firework display we were lucky enough to see from the rooftop of our Brooklyn apartment building. We had no idea there were fireworks planned, and were simply enjoying some nighttime views of the Manhattan skyline when the sky started to light up with colour!

It just goes to show that you never quite know when something special is going to happen, and sometimes the best memories aren’t planned in advance and can require just a bit of good timing!

One of the most colourful and diverse countries we’ve visited is Colombia. We were blown away by the architecture, the towns, the beaches and the people.

Our favourite spots to visit are:

On my travels back in 2014, one of my first stops was South Africa. I travelled from Johannesburg down to Cape Town by myself, meeting lots of fellow travellers along the way. My last stop was Cape Town, where I met a few other people and we decided to climb Table Mountain together. From what they knew it was supposed to be an easy enough walk up and a simple route.

At some point on our hike we ended up taking the wrong route - and had accidentally spent 4 hours hiking to the top via one of the hardest and most dangerous routes to the summit of Table Mountain.

Safe to say we were pretty tired when we made it to the top as some of the route involved rock climbing and walking up ladders! It was definitely a hard hike but it was worth it in the end!

July is quickly approaching so thought we would share 3 great places to travel to in July.

The fjords of Norway are incredibly beautiful. It’s not the best summer destination in terms of weather and sunbathing. However the scenery more than makes up for it.

A country we have had the pleasure of visiting several times is Malaysia. Often overlooked for other destinations in South East Asia, this country has a mix of things to discover from paradise islands to bustling cities.

Lastly, the beautiful country of Austria! Here you can have so many different adventures whether that’s swimming in lakes, hiking in the mountains or visiting colourful towns!
