Lufthansa is set to introduce its new “Allegris” cabin product on the Singapore–Munich route from 26 October 2026, operated by Airbus A350 aircraft featuring the full Allegris cabin across all classes. The move marks a major upgrade to Lufthansa’s long-haul experience in Southeast Asia.

A key highlight is the return of Lufthansa First Class to Singapore, featuring new private suite-style cabins. The new Business Class will offer direct aisle access for every seat with enhanced privacy and comfort, while Premium Economy and Economy Class will also feature redesigned cabins and upgraded inflight entertainment.

Lufthansa will also launch its new “Future Onboard Experience” (FOX) concept in 2026, backed by an investment of over €70 million, aimed at enhancing onboard service and premium travel experiences across all cabin classes.

The airline added that the Allegris launch will further strengthen the joint venture partnership between Lufthansa Group and Singapore Airlines while supporting tourism and connectivity between Asia and Europe via Munich.

Dubai South has officially commenced construction of a new US$5.1 billion next-generation engineering complex that is set to become one of the world’s most advanced maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities upon completion in 2030.

Located within Dubai South, the ultra-modern development will significantly expand the emirate’s aviation engineering and technical capabilities, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading global aviation hub. The facility is expected to feature state-of-the-art technologies, advanced maintenance infrastructure, and large-scale operational capacity designed to support the future growth of the aviation industry.

Korean Air officially completed its merger with Asiana Airlines after years of regulatory approvals from multiple international competition authorities.
The merger creates one of Asia’s largest airline groups and strengthens South Korea’s position in the global aviation market. Korean Air first announced plans to acquire Asiana in 2020 as part of efforts to stabilise the country’s aviation sector following the pandemic.
Under the integration plan:
Korean Air becomes the parent airline group.
Asiana Airlines will gradually be integrated into Korean Air operations.
Subsidiary low-cost carriers are also expected to be consolidated over time.
Fleet, routes, loyalty programmes, and operational systems will eventually be unified.
The merger is expected to:
Expand global route connectivity.
Increase operational efficiency.
Strengthen cargo and long-haul operations.
Improve competitiveness against major Asian carriers such as Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Emirates.
However, regulators required Korean Air to give up some airport slots and routes to maintain fair competition, particularly on routes to Europe and within Asia.
Brand integration is expected to take several years, with Asiana aircraft and branding gradually transitioning under the Korean Air identity.

Emirates has unveiled a special new livery on one of its Airbus A380 aircraft, proudly featuring the UAE flag across the fuselage. The design, applied to aircraft A6-EVG, forms the centerpiece of the airline’s “This Flag Will Always Fly” campaign.

The initiative follows a national call by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, encouraging citizens and residents to honour the UAE flag as a powerful symbol of national pride, unity, and identity.

Thai Airways International has notified ticket agents of a broad reduction in flight frequencies for May 2026, affecting domestic, regional and European routes, as the airline responds to rising fuel costs and softer low-season demand.

The national carrier indicated that schedules may be adjusted throughout the month, with services trimmed across multiple markets. In a notice issued last week, the airline said contingency measures have been put in place to assist agents and passengers in managing the changes.
