So, I went back to my Thai girlfriend…
Apparently, some men see a relationship that nearly destroyed them and think:
“You know what this needs? A sequel.”
Going back to someone is one of the strangest things we do.
You spend weeks telling your one mate how toxic it was.
You explain everything they did wrong.
You swear you’ll never go back.
Then one lonely night, your phone lights up…
And suddenly you’re conducting a 🦆ing archaeological dig through your own memories trying to find the good bits.
“But she was lovely really.”
“She did make me laugh.”
“We had some good times.”
Yes.
So did the Titanic.
The question isn’t whether you still love them.
The question is why you left in the first place.
Because if nothing has changed, you’re not getting back together.
You’re just restarting the same problem from episode one.
And don’t be fooled by apologies.
People can apologise because they’ve changed.
Or because they’ve realised they’ve lost access to you.
Those are two very different things.
So before you take someone back, forget what they’re promising.
Look at what they’ve actually changed.
And look at yourself.
Are you going back because they’re genuinely the right person?
Or because being alone has suddenly become less attractive than being miserable with company?
Anyway…
I went back.
I’ll let you know how this completely unnecessary experiment works out.
