Here We Go

These Palm trees are so old. Thinking about all the storms they have gone through. Reminds me of my life. Before I let God have control of my life the storms were brutal and destructive. But after giving God control even though there are still storms he helps me get through them and they are no longer destructive. He has given me an amazing family, awesome friends on both sides of the world. There is no storm that scares me anymore 🙏❤️

Another beautiful day here in Istanbul. Wedding day for one of my favorite people. I am so happy for him and I pray many blessings over them. This trip has already been a blessing in so many ways.✈️ In Dulles I was able to share my testimony with a gentleman that had just lost his wife to altihmers. Please pray for him he is not doing well with his grief🙏. On the plane I was blessed to be seated next to a sweet young man on his way to meet his wife who is currently working in Turkiye. Then across the isle was a gentleman talking to his seat mate. They were talking about archeology in Ankara. Looking for evidence of some of the first Christian churches in Turkiye that were uncovered during the earthquake. God's hands are in everything we do if we would just look. The evidence is all around us. The Hotel I am staying in is awesome. Such a friendly and helpful staff. Grand Mira Business otel in Istanbul. If you are ever in need. Today was a good mail day 📬. I got my study book for my class on Genesis. I got a really good devotional called Jesus Calling, another called In the Middle of the Mess, (ie. My life right now) also The Women of the Bible Speak. I think we as women can gain strength from really knowing them. I also got a copy of the Quran for some research I am doing. I pray that God would help me get the information I need quickly from this book. I am excited to have some amazing mental distractions. There is nothing better than digging deeper into God's word. Thank you BubbaandCassie Martin for my delivery today.

So many things to be grateful for this year it would be impossible to mention them all. But I will say that more than anything thing I am grateful to God for my life! All that comes with it. The ups the downs and all the in betweens. It's all part of God's plan and I welcome that. Happy Thanksgiving 🙏

Spent the morning with Erdem and his lovely fiance breakfast at a wonderful place then shopping. I love this little town I wish I could bring them home. I will be home Thursday afternoon. Love to all

So Saturday was my birthday, we won't discuss which one. I spent a quiet day at home with my blackberry ripple ice cream 🍨. Which is the best birthday present I could give myself. Sunday I watched Turkish church (forgot to take a picture) Pastor Emre is a good man. I've been watching online since my heat stroke. I have been left with so dizziness so two floors of marble stairs are a no go. We are working through Ephesians. Then watched church from home and cooked. 🍗So I miss my southern food and I was having some new friends for dinner Sunday evening and I decided that Fried chicken, potato salad and macaroni salad with some good old-fashioned lemonade to wash it down. We had a wonderful time. They are non believers. But are curious. So planted a few seeds there. Monday my friend Çhalar came to pick up the research that I have been doing for his tour company. He is a nice young man who started out as a man wanting more correct information to share on his tours of Christian and biblical areas. Has turned into a man truly seeking God. Thank you God for making me a farmer, for giving me a chance to spread these seeds. Anywhere you go people can either exceed your expectations or disappoint you. You can not dwell on the disappointments just drop a few seeds and move on. 👩‍🌾 God will take care of the rest. 10 more days and I will be home. Love and miss you all ♥️

This week has been alot of studying. I am so grateful to God for time to be able to devote to spending time in his word. In a country that is such an intrical part of the history of the Bible. This experience is not lost on me. I also had the opportunity to have dinner with my landlord and his beautiful wife. I have always believed that music is the universal language. She does not speak any English but is a school teacher and speaks German and of course Turkish. He is an engineer and chef who has written a cookbook. He also speaks multiple languages. They are the most amazing people Saturday evening we spent time together learning about each other by sharing music. It made my heart so happy to meet such a nice couple. I also saw the first storm since I have been here. See everyone soon. Keep praying for these people.

When the people of this world let you down. Don't meet with the expectations that you have of them. We turn to God he always exceeds our expectations. You bury yourself in your studies and to spend time with him, the most trustworthy of your friends.

So usually stay up until 2:00am Thursday morning in order to watch Wednesday night Bible study but this week our Internet was bad so I had to wait till today to watch. Then seeing everyone made me miss home so I had to fix a pot of green beans. My little Grocery guy had some beautiful Zucchini so had to fry one up. So yummy but now I miss home more. Love you guys 💞
