La Secretaria General de la AEC, S.E. Noemí Espinoza, sostuvo una reunión virtual con el Consejo Empresarial Mexicano de Comercio Exterior, Inversión y Tecnología (COMCE) para avanzar en un objetivo común: conectar mejor al Gran Caribe con nuevas oportunidades de comercio, inversión y desarrollo.

La AEC reúne a 25 Estados Miembros y 10 Miembros Asociados, consolidándose como una plataforma regional única para articular cooperación y oportunidades en el Gran Caribe.

México ocupa una posición estratégica por su peso económico y político, así como por la capacidad de sus empresas, cadenas productivas e inversiones para fortalecer los vínculos de la región con los mercados internacionales.

Desde la AEC, buscamos acercar esta plataforma regional al sector empresarial para convertir oportunidades en alianzas y resultados concretos para el Gran Caribe.

De la visión a la ejecución: la AEC abre una nueva etapa de coordinación para el Gran Caribe

La coordinación entre la Presidencia, la Mesa Directiva y la Secretaría General será fundamental para dar continuidad a las decisiones de nuestros miembros, alinear prioridades y fortalecer la capacidad de la AEC para convertir los acuerdos en resultados concretos.

El Plan de Trabajo de la Mesa Directiva marca una ruta común para acompañar esta nueva etapa de la Asociación: una AEC más dinámica, articulada y orientada a la ejecución.

Como señaló S.E. Noemí Espinoza, Secretaria General de la AEC, en la 68ª Reunión de la Mesa Directiva del Consejo de Ministros: “La Secretaría está plenamente comprometida con ese propósito y seguirá trabajando de la mano de la Presidencia y de esta Mesa Directiva para traducir nuestras decisiones en resultados concretos”.

Con un horizonte compartido hacia 2035, el desafío ahora es claro: transformar la visión en acción y la acción en beneficios concretos para el Gran Caribe.

La AEC agradece al Secretario Ejecutivo de la CEPAL, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, por hacernos llegar “Rupturas y oportunidades”, una valiosa contribución al debate sobre el futuro de la cooperación regional en un contexto global en transformación.

La publicación plantea la importancia de avanzar hacia formas más flexibles de cooperación regional: evitar alineamientos rígidos, privilegiar acuerdos viables sobre la búsqueda permanente de unanimidad, transformar nuestros mínimos comunes en compromisos concretos y priorizar las funciones y los resultados sobre las formas institucionales.

Para el Gran Caribe, este enfoque es especialmente relevante. Frente a desafíos compartidos que trascienden fronteras, necesitamos una integración capaz de traducir el diálogo en acción, articular intereses diversos y generar resultados tangibles para nuestros pueblos.

ACS Secretary-General, H.E. Noemí Espinoza Madrid, met with the Deputy Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to discuss shared priorities and opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations, building on the exchanges held during the ACS’s recent mission to Haiti.

The meeting marked another step in deepening the partnership between the ACS and the IFRC, with a focus on leveraging their respective capacities, strengthening coordination, and identifying opportunities to advance joint projects, particularly in the area of disaster risk reduction and resilience across the Greater Caribbean.

The discussions also touched on Haiti as one of the areas where continued coordination can add value. As the ACS advances the development of the Regional Action Plan on Humanitarian Assistance and Development for Haiti, engagement with partners such as the IFRC can help support a more coordinated, sustained, and results-oriented response aligned with Haiti’s priorities

Acompañamos especialmente a las comunidades afectadas y reconocemos la labor de las autoridades y de los equipos de emergencia que trabajan en la atención de las personas y la evaluación de los daños.

Eventos como este nos recuerdan las vulnerabilidades que compartimos y la importancia de fortalecer la prevención, la cooperación y la resiliencia frente a los desastres.
