Caribbeing

Caribbeing Caribbeing is a word originated in 1970 by Yao Ramesar, applied to his trademark cinema aesthetic, film production/distribution company & merchandise.

Ramesar first used the term Caribbeing after a conversation with his father in late 1970 on the deck of the Federal Maple, sailing from Jamaica to re-settle in Trinidad on noticing the various pronunciations of the word by different Caribbean peoples.

DOUBLE TROUBLE : Grenada × Trinbago & a rare privilege to be adjacent to my padna in art Edward Bowen, fresh from his Venice Biennale showing. A quater century ago we exhibited together after an international artists' workshop & that was it. Looking forward to lighting up proceedings with deeply satifying exchanges between Caribbean first cousins, multiplying our powers which are needed now more than ever. Large ups to Susan & Asher Mains on their 9th Grenada Contemporary! 🇬🇩 🇹🇹 ❤️
