Monkeys were just the beginning.

Next came colourful macaws overhead and, after dark, one of nature's greatest spectacles—endangered sea turtles returning to nest on our shores.

Teresa and Dario came looking for wildlife. Trinidad and Tobago did not disappoint.

Macaws or sea turtles—which would you choose?

28/05/2026

Teresa and Dario, our Italian visitors, were very curious about Trinidad and Tobago’s biodiversity, so we curated a customized itinerary to maximize their chances of seeing the wildlife they were most excited about — starting with our monkeys.

Can you guess where we explored next?

The Italians are visiting Trinidad for the first time.

2 days.

Stay tuned to see what they experienced.

It is significant that today, May 23- the birthday of the late Dr. Dawn A T Phillip, who conducted extensive research on the impact of hydrocarbons on the evolution of guppies- NYLB hosted researchers from the University of London to share their findings with interested students. And yes! No surprises, guppies have evolved to survive in the sulphur pools of the pitch lake.

This is one of the ways we are bridging the gap for our youth between what they are learning in school and how it can be applied to life. And of course, visitors to the Pitch Lake can learn more on our Black Gold experiences.

Sincerest thanks to all who contributed to today's efforts.

We are building legacy, not just likes.

Today, on World Turtle Day, we celebrate one of the oldest living creatures on Earth — from our freshwater terrapins to the magnificent sea turtles that return to Trinidad and Tobago’s shores year after year.

Trinidad and Tobago is home to FIVE species of sea turtles: Leatherback, Hawksbill, Green, Loggerhead and Olive Ridley turtles. Three species regularly nest on our beaches, making our islands one of the Caribbean’s most important turtle conservation spaces.

At 3 Circles Energy, our sea turtle conservation experiences are about far more than sightings.

We focus on:
• small, respectful groups
• conservation-first guiding
• safety and education
• collaboration with local communities and turtle guides
• protecting nesting beaches through responsible behaviour

Our guests leave with more than photos. They leave understanding why these animals matter to our ecosystems, our heritage, and our future.

Every turtle that survives today is surviving against enormous odds — habitat loss, plastic pollution, coastal lighting, illegal harvesting, climate change, and marine debris.

We can all help:
• Never leave garbage on beaches
• Reduce single-use plastics
• Avoid driving and lighting fires on nesting beaches
• Use red lights at night near turtle nesting sites
• Support ethical turtle tours
• Respect wildlife space and local conservation rules
• Teach younger generations why turtles matter

Conservation is not somebody else’s responsibility. It belongs to all of us.

This World Turtle Day, let us protect the oceans, beaches, rivers and wetlands that turtles — and ultimately humans — depend on.

We are building legacy, not just likes.

We have a lot to be proud of in Trinidad and Tobago.

World Biodiversity Day reminds us that Trinidad and Tobago is home to extraordinary life — from nesting leatherback turtles and insect-eating plants to the rare Pawi, hummingbirds, and vibrant coral reefs.

At 3 Circles Energy, every experience is designed to help people connect with these spaces respectfully, safely, and meaningfully while supporting the communities that protect them.

We are proud to play our part in strengthening conservation-minded tourism in Trinidad and Tobago.

These are not just beautiful places. They are living ecosystems, cultural heritage, and part of our shared responsibility.

We are building legacy, not just likes.

In the hills of Paramin, food tells a story.

Through our collaborations with Paramin Hut Food Services, guests of 3 Circles Energy have shared local meals, hot cocoa tea, and locally grown coffee while learning more about the connection between people, culture, and the land that sustains us.

These moments around the table often become conversations about:
• slow-grown food
• traditional knowledge
• farming in the hills
• sustainability
• and the importance of protecting the environments that continue to feed our communities.

Tourism should do more than move people. It should create understanding, appreciation, and support for local livelihoods.

Every meal shared is an investment in community.

Last night we hosted our final public Sea Turtle Conservation Experience at Las Cuevas for the 2026 turtle nesting season.

For Endangered Species Day, we did more than observe turtles. We shared knowledge with our guests and daytime beach visitors about one of Trinidad and Tobago’s flagship endangered species and the responsibility we all carry to protect them.

Leatherback sea turtles have returned to our shores for generations. Whether they continue to do so depends on the choices we make now.

Here’s how you can help protect our turtles and their nesting spaces:

• Do not drive on our beaches
• Do not light fires or bonfires on nesting beaches
• Use red lights only when visiting beaches at night
• Encourage seaside communities to switch bright white lights to turtle-friendly red lighting
• Support stronger national investment in eco-tourism and conservation

These beaches are not just recreational spaces. They are nesting grounds. They are ecosystems. They are part of our national heritage.

3 Circles Energy public tours may be ending for the season, but our private conservation-focused bookings remain available on any day of the week.

Thank you to every guest, guide, community member, and conservation stakeholder who continues to stand with us in protecting Trinidad and Tobago’s sea turtles. Special thanks to cuevas Turtle Tours for collaborating with us through the years.

We are building legacy, not just likes.

At 3 Circles Energy, food is never just food.

Through our collaborations with Chef Roger's Catering Services, our guests experience local meals prepared with care, culture, and ingredients connected to the land itself.

Around these tables, conversations naturally unfold: about slow-grown food, traditional knowledge, sustainability, and how the forests, rivers, coastlines, and farms continue to support our communities.

These experiences create deeper appreciation not only for the meal, but for the people and ecosystems behind it.

Community-based tourism should nourish more than visitors. It should nourish livelihoods, culture, and respect for the environment.

We are building legacy, not just likes.
