🌏 An Eventful July for Our PATA Chapter
July has been a full month for our chapter.
PATA HQ Chairman Henry and CEO Noor visited Taiwan, traveling from Taipei to Kaohsiung to meet key partners across Taiwan’s tourism sector:
• Chen Yu-Hsiu, Director General, Tourism Administration, MOTC
• Kao Min-Lin, Director, Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government
• Echo Chen, Chairman, Taipei Association Of Travel Agents (TATA)
• Yeh Chu-Lan, Chair, Grand Hotel
During the meeting with the Tourism Administration, the delegation highlighted the efficiency of Taiwan’s entry procedures. From immigration to baggage claim, each step helps create a positive first impression for international visitors, showing the value of cross-agency coordination and clear procedures. Taiwan’s experience could serve as a useful reference for other Asia-Pacific destinations through the PATA network.
In Kaohsiung, Director Kao and her team introduced the PATA delegation to southern Taiwan’s rich tourism resources and discussed initiatives such as professional training and FAM Tours. Giving international travel professionals the chance to experience Kaohsiung firsthand can support itinerary planning and destination promotion in their markets, while raising Kaohsiung’s visibility across the region.
Back in Taipei, Echo Chen and the TATA team discussed the importance of international networks for Taiwan’s travel industry. Through the PATA platform, Taiwan’s travel companies can connect with travel agencies, tourism buyers, and destination organizations across the region, creating opportunities for B2B engagement and new source markets.
Beyond the meetings, our chapter hosted our guests for dinner at MingFu Taiwanese Restaurant in Taipei, offering a taste of authentic Taiwanese home cooking and adding a warm, personal touch to the visit.
For the PATA Chinese Taipei Chapter, this was more than just a visit. It was an opportunity to build lasting connections between Taiwan and the wider PATA network. We look forward to creating more exchanges and partnerships, while sharing Taiwan’s tourism appeal and industry strengths with the Asia-Pacific region and the world.
