What’s the down side of going on safari in low season?

None in Tanzania, all the animals are still there. Accommodation can be half price and you will feel as if you have the parks to yourself. Amazing.

Everyone sells calving season or river Mara crossings as if that is your choice. It isn’t, ask about our low season safaris, great value and in many ways better than peak season.

Why would someone sell a safari for $8,000 when they could sell it for $10,000?

It amazes me that some people on here think there are these kind operators happy to make little or no money.

When I go to Ngorongoro crater gate and see 50 or 60 jeeps there, I count up how many I’d go in for the dangerous ascent and descent roads and the rough roads of the Serengeti.

Most days I get to 30 or 40. But that leaves the other 10 or 20 that I would not step near let alone put my kids in it.

You might think I’m being dramatic, but seriously, buying the cheapest safari means putting yourself and your family in danger.

Safari driving - it’s not a walk in the park.
