A THROWBACK TO THIS DAY LAST YEAR! 🇳🇬🇺🇸🇺🇬

From Nigeria and the USA to the top of **Murchison Falls, Uganda!

Our clients first discovered the beauty of Uganda in 2024 during a memorable visit to Jinja. Their experience included a delicious fresh-fish lunch at Jinja Sailing Club, a Nile expedition and the fun of flat-water tubing along the river, surrounded by beautiful scenery and the sounds of nature. And of course, a refreshing pineapple made the experience even sweeter!

They returned to Uganda for more, this time exploring the magnificent Murchison Falls.

At World-Trotters, we love helping travellers discover the many experiences our beautiful country has to offer, from adventures on the Nile to breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Uganda no longer requires travellers to present a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate for entry, according to the official notice issued on 2 October 2026.

Travellers should still consider relevant health advice and confirm any vaccination requirements applicable to their onward destinations.

A Little Throwback To This Day Last Year 🇺🇬

From Cameroon to the Source of the Nile in Jinja - and what a beautiful experience it was!

This lovely mother-and-daughter duo travelled with us and absolutely fell in love with Jinja.

From their Nile expedition to taking in the beauty and energy of the river, there were plenty of moments to remember.

And then, of course, there was the fresh fish at Jinja Sailing Club! 😋

Some travel memories aren't about simply ticking places off a list.

They're about the laughter, the food, the conversations, the experiences you share - and having someone special beside you to enjoy them with.

Looking back at this photo reminds us why we love what we do at World-Trotters - helping people discover Uganda in their own way and create memories they can carry with them long after the journey ends.

🦌 TOPI, HARTEBEEST OR UGANDA KOB?

Topi, hartebeest and Uganda kob are all antelope, and when you see them from a distance, their body shape, colouring and overall appearance can look quite similar.

For Ugandans, the Uganda kob is probably the easiest of the three to recognise. After all, it's one of our national symbols.

But seeing a Topi in Kenya made us realise something we love about safari: even when you think you know wildlife, there is always something new to discover.

The more you travel, the more you start paying attention to the little differences - the shape of the horns, the markings, the colour and even the way an animal carries itself.

And that's when safari becomes more than simply ticking animals off a list.

🦒 A WALK THROUGH THE WILD 🇰🇪

Two giraffes quietly making their way through the beautiful landscapes of the Masai Mara.

There is something special about watching giraffes in the wild. Their distinctive patterns, incredible height and graceful movement make them such a beautiful part of the African savannah.

But their height isn't just what makes them fascinating to look at.

It gives them access to leaves high up in trees and shrubs that many other herbivores cannot easily reach.

And sometimes, the best safari moments aren't the dramatic ones.

Sometimes it's simply stopping, watching and seeing animals going about their day - completely at home in their natural environment.

That's one of the things I love about safari. You don't just see wildlife. You learn from it.

And perhaps one day, you'll find yourself sitting quietly in a safari vehicle, watching a scene like this unfold in front of you.

Kenya is waiting to be explored.

🦁 THE KINGS OF THE MARA 🇰🇪

There are some safari moments that make you stop talking and simply watch.

During our time in the Masai Mara, we came across these beautiful lionesses with their young cub.

One thing I find fascinating about lions is their social life. Lionesses often live together in prides and cooperate in raising and protecting their young.

So when you see a mother with her cubs, you're seeing more than just a beautiful wildlife sighting. You're getting a little glimpse into family life in the wild.

And this is one of the things I love about safari.

You go looking for wildlife, but you come away having learned something about the animals, their behaviour and the world they live in.

You don't just see wildlife. You learn from it.

🐘 THE GIANTS OF THE MARA 🇰🇪

One of my favourite things about safari is that you don't just see animals - you start learning about them.

During our time in the Masai Mara, we came across these magnificent African elephants, and watching them in their natural environment was one of those moments that makes you slow down and simply observe.

Did you know that elephants are highly social animals and can live in family groups? Watching them move together, feed and interact gives you a completely different appreciation of them.

And there is something else that makes the elephants of the Mara particularly interesting.

They are not confined to the National Reserve alone. The wider Mara ecosystem includes community conservancies that form an important part of the landscape used by elephants. In fact, Kenya's National Elephant Action Plan notes that roughly one-third of the elephant population in the Mara ecosystem uses community conservancies, with the rest using the reserve.
So when we talk about protecting elephants, we are not only talking about protecting a park.

We are also talking about protecting the wider ecosystem, wildlife corridors and the communities living alongside these animals.

That is one of the things we love about safari travel.

You go looking for wildlife...

And you come away having learned something about nature, conservation and the relationship between wildlife and people.

This is the Masai Mara - where the giants still roam.

After spending time on the road and finally entering the Masai Mara, it was time for us to settle in and relax at the Mara Maisha Camp.

I wasn't travelling alone. I was with clients, and one of the things I always appreciate about a safari is seeing how the experience changes once you arrive at the camp. The pace slows down, everyone gets a chance to relax, and suddenly you realise that you are completely surrounded by nature.

Mara Maisha is an absolutely beautiful camp right in the heart of the Mara, surrounded by the savannah and the sights and sounds of the wild. During our stay, there was always something happening around us - birds calling, insects buzzing and, at a distance, the sounds of wildlife reminding you that you really are in the middle of the Mara.

The setting is so beautiful, but what I particularly love is that the camp gives you a place to come back to after a day out in the reserve. You can sit, relax, have a conversation with your fellow travellers by a bonfire and simply take in your surroundings.

For us, this was another part of the Masai Mara experience - not just the game drives, but also where we stayed, the people we shared the journey with and those quieter moments in between.

And this is why when we at World-Trotters plan trips for our travellers, we look beyond simply finding a place to sleep. Where you stay is part of the experience.

This was our Mara Maisha chapter as we continued FROM CITY TO SAVANNAH.
