I-10 Corridor Improvement Study

I-10 Corridor Improvement Study I-10 Corridor Improvement Study (West of Mississippi River Bridge to 10/12 split)

As traffic issues continue to rise along the I-10 corridor in the Baton Rouge area, DOTD has opted to re-open discussions within the community regarding finding appropriate solutions to those issues. The current study is the first step in determining the feasibility of any improvements to the area of I-10 between the Mississippi River Bridge and the 10/12 split. The state will work with community

residents and merchants to create concepts for improving the corridor, with an open ear toward community ideas.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) invites the public to an open house event to offer input on community connections and context sensitive solutions for the I-10 BR Widening project. The open house pertains to the right-of-way along Perkins Road between City Park Lake and the Kansas City Southern (KCS) Railroad just east of the Perkins interchange. Featured options include parking, safety and decorative lighting, street connectivity, and pedestrian pathways. These will be prioritized and located on maps for refinement by project landscape architects and designers.
