Last week, our team completed Pitot-Static training. For some, it was a valuable refresher, while others had the opportunity to build new knowledge and skills.

The Pitot-Static system is a critical component in general avaition aircraft, providing data that drives essential flight instruments such as airspeed, altitude, and vertical speed. Accuracy and reliability in this system are vital mfor safe flight operations, especially in instrument conditions were pilots depend heavily on those readings.

Investing in ongoing training ensures our team remains sharp, knowledgeable, and ready to maintain the integrity of those systems--keeping both aircraft and pilots operating safely and confidently.

Please join us in wishing Rob a very happy 20-year anniversary with Depot Avionics!

Rob started with us in March of 2006. Most recently he has been keeping the hangar (and the rest of us) in line ever as our Hangar Manager. He’s known for his attention to detail, his patience, and the fact that he never backs down from a challenge.

Over the years, Rob has taught many of us how to troubleshoot and install avionics—usually while patiently explaining things more than once. His knowledge, steady attitude, and sense of humor make a huge difference around here.

Thanks for 20 years of hard work, Rob! We’re lucky to have you on the team.

✨ Fun to watch Rob teach new things! ✨

Meet Jeremiah, our newest installer! 👋 He grew up in the San Luis Valley and says he’s enjoying the job so far — especially the challenge.

With the national avionics technician shortage, our remote location, and a field elevation of 7,540 ft (yikes!), we’ve found that the best way to “grow” great technicians is through in-house training. 🌱

We’re proud to partner with the Aircraft Electronics Association to offer even more training opportunities for our team. 💪✈️

This last Friday the crew was able to take some time out of a busy day to celebrate a very special lady on her birthday. A very happy birthday to Miss Becky!

Upgrades include G3X Touch, G5 back up ADI, GTN750Xi, GNC255A nav/com, PMA-8000G Audio Panel, GFC-500 Autopilot with Pitch/Roll/ Pitch Trim, as well as new custom pilot and circuit breaker panels.
