Port of Albany-Rensselaer Pride!

At the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Port Authorities Annual Convention in New Orleans, Port of Albany-Rensselaer, NY CEO Rich Hendrick Sr. was unanimously elected Chair of the Board of Directors. From the Annual Meeting to ringing the bell to kick off the convention, congratulations Rich!

This is the first time in more than 40 years that the AAPA Chairman has been elected from the North Atlantic Region. Rich will serve a two-year term in this role. Previously, he served the AAPA Board as Vice Chairman and as the representative of the North Atlantic Region.

The future of ports is being decided now…and the Port of Albany-Rensselaer is in the room with close to 1,000 port and maritime leaders at the American Association of Port Authorities Annual Convention in New Orleans.

The convention hasn't even officially started and still a great day of opportunities to meet up with old friends (and meet new ones), attend technical committee meetings, and be a part of special honors.

The staff here at the Port of Albany-Rensselaer wholeheartedly support the official recognition of September 25 as Dolly Day (9 to 5). Because of the giving regulations related to the Port’s mission, the organization can’t make a non-maritime related donation. However, the Port staff, inspired by the life and work of Dolly Parton, has come together to raise money to donate to the Imagination Library in her memory.
