Flash-forward 21 years, Dave is now General Foreman with I.L.A Local #1294. His favorite thing about the job – the people, the great relationships, and still having that beginner’s bond with some of the same guys that he started with. His least favorite thing about the job – time away from his wife and kids. Dave is one of our

The Deeper Hudson Project was a major federal and local engineering initiative that looked to dredge and deepen the Hudson River channel from New York City to Albany.

in 1924, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released their definitive operational and funding framework (costing roughly $11 million then), triggering intense local political campaigns and state legislative support. The project successfully transformed Albany into a deep-sea ocean port, connected manufacturing in the Capital Region and the Erie Barge Canal directly to global deep-water shipping lanes, and enabled year-round navigation for large vessels.
