COMMUNITY DOCK PERMITS: Dock spaces for the 2025 season on Fountain Lake will be made available to the public for rental on Friday, April 11 at 6 a.m. at the City Arena.

For additional information on the rental process, please visit the City of Albert Lea website. The list of available dock spaces can be found on the website.

March 3 was recorded as the date the ice completely melted on Fountain Lake in 2024, setting a new record for the earliest the ice has ever melted on the lake since records were kept in 1912, according to Mark Malepsy, annual watcher of the lake.

Fall is here and waterfront equipment is beginning to be removed. Most importantly- “the bite” is beginning to pick up. It is a wonderful time of year to get the “little ones” out for some action. Fountain Lake has been giving up a wide variety of species lately!
