EEIDD Clarifies Board Meeting Schedule; No Special Session Planned in September

ALEXANDRIA, La. (September 3, 2026) – At the August 27, 2026, England Economic and Industrial Development District (EEIDD) Board of Commissioners meeting, it was announced that a special board meeting would be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. However, the special board meeting is no longer scheduled.

The public will be notified of all open meetings of the EEIDD Board of Commissioners, per Louisiana Revised Statute. The next official meeting of the EEIDD Board of Commissioners is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026, in the EEIDD Board Room, located at 1611 Arnold Drive, Alexandria, Louisiana 71303.

Collaboration in action! 🚒✈️

This morning, the England Airpark Fire Department hosted a readiness meeting to gear up for Alexandria International Airport’s (AEX) upcoming triennial emergency exercise this November. Approximately two dozen partners gathered to start laying the groundwork.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires full-scale, mass-casualty simulations every three years. These realistic drills allow AEX, local mutual aid agencies, and regional medical partners to:

▪️ Streamline response efforts and communication across all participating agencies
▪️ Familiarize emergency responders with AEX's layout, equipment, and procedures
▪️ Evaluate emergency plans, rescue equipment, and tactical ex*****on under pressure
▪️ Identify key areas to improve and update our overall airport emergency plan

Thank you to all the agency representatives who joined us today to keep AEX and our community safe!

Congratulations to EEIDD Deputy Director David Broussard on his election to serve as an alternate director of the Southern Economic Development Council. David will serve a one-year term beginning January 1, 2027.

The SEDC is North America’s oldest and largest regional economic development association.

“Our incoming leadership reflects the depth and expertise of the network that has helped establish the American South as the world’s third-largest economy and unrivaled investment destination,” stated Council President Matt Tackett in a news release. “We congratulate and thank all for their continued commitment to our members, our communities, and the prosperity of the region.”
