Lehigh Trucking is seeking a safe, experienced, and professional Owner-Operator who'd like to become an owner-operator/business owner. Individuals must be self-motivated, dedicated, and professional.

Title: Professional CDL-A Driver (Local to the OTR/Regional)
Overview of Title: Operates tractor and trailer combination safely and efficiently to satisfy DOT, company, and customer requirements. Drop & Hook + Live load/unload required.
Location: Nazareth, PA / Los Angeles, CA (both places)
Driver Split: Range in Pay - 30% of load pay / 50 cents a mile / $28/hr
Pay Type: 1099

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections on equipment as required by the U.S Department of Transportation.

·Upkeep of tractor's interior, conducting oil checks and other fluids at proper intervals, and reporting equipment defects to be corrected.

·Truck driving skills are per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

·Applies knowledge and skills in; maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds and spacing, heavy traffic, inclement weather, customer communications, and the close confines of customer facilities.

·Providing accurate counts and suitable conditions of freight when constructing pickups.

·Properly signing and noting the shipper's bill of lading; ensuring delivery receipts are correctly signed by the consignee.

·Notifying dispatch and general managers before documents are signed and throughout trips of any problems or inconveniences (delays due to breakdowns, weather, traffic conditions, or any other irregularity that will affect pickup or delivery schedules).

·Able to load/unload trailer (individually or assisted by dockworkers).

·Secure loads according to the Federal DOT Regulations Section 393.100 through Section 393.106.

·Promptly reports to the general manager all accidents or emergencies involving driver or company equipment.

·Submitting all paperwork and documents required by the Federal DOT accurately and promptly. ·Great customer service etiquette with all clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Must possess or be able to obtain a current DOT physical card.
-Must meet DOT and company requirements related to drug and alcohol testing.
-Must pass a company road test.
-Minimum 6 months of tractor-trailer driving experience with some OTR experience is preferred. -Must be 21 years of age or older.
-Knowledge and compliance with DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, pre- trip and post-trip inspection, and proper hooking and unhooking of trailers are necessary.
-Must be personable, have a cooperative attitude, and can work independently.
-No felonious driving infractions within the last five years or DWI/DUI in the ten years on your driving record.
-Savvy individual who can create solutions with load and truck management.
-Flexible schedule (able to work nights and weekends).
-Able to meet a minimum of 6K grossing goals or 2500 miles/weekly.
-Individuals must be responsible, consistent, and a team player.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs pre-trip, in route, and post trip inspections on equipment as required by the U. S. Department of Transportation.
· Keeps tractor interior clean and orderly, checks oil and other fluid at proper intervals, ensures that equipment defects are reported and corrected.
· Drives truck in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
· Applies knowledge and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds and in difficult situations such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and customer, or the close confines of customer facilities.
· Ensures correct count and good condition of freight when making pickups then properly signs and notes shipper's bill of lading.
· When delivering freight, ensures that delivery receipts are properly signed by consignee and when exceptions occur, notifies Dispatch before documents are signed.
· When necessary, load/unload trailer, either individually or with assistance of dockworkers. Secure load to prevent shifting, falling and damage to the freight as specified in the Federal DOT Regulations Section 393.100 through Section 393.106 .
· Plans driving time, meals, breaks, and rest periods to meet scheduled appointment times.
· Promptly reports to the general manager any delays due to breakdowns, weather, traffic conditions, or any other irregularity that will affect pickup or delivery schedules.
· Promptly reports to the general manager all accidents or emergency situations involving driver or company equipment.
· Accurate and timely submission of all paperwork and documents required by the Federal DOT.
· Proper conduct and courtesy to customers and general public.
