We have a request for help transporting some fencing materials from Colorado to some areas in the fire zones of Nebraska. This is not going through our organization just trying to get the word out to help these kind folks. Below is the message we received and if your interested let us know and we will get you in contact with them privately. Please only contact us if you can 100% make this happen. Once again this is not going through DRH.

“We have spent the past 4 weeks collecting donated fence material to aid in the fire relief for Nebraska! We've got close to 3 semi loads of materials that we are looking for help moving from 2 locations in northeast Colorado to a couple locations in the affected zone (depending on where we can arrange drop-off).
We haven't been able to find help so far - I saw one of your Facebook posts and thought I might reach out to spread the word. We plan to donate volunteer time to rebuild about 3 miles of fence in Nebraska on the first weekend of May and it would help us tremendously to get at least one load of materials over there to do that.”

If the western half of Nebraska ever wanted to retain or expand intercity bus services, NOW is the time to speak up! As the State appears to keep trying to place more of the financial hardship on our small rural and frontier communities and counties, this is where the rubber meets the road. They can not afford it, not on top of supporting local services as well. They just can't. After dealing with drought, devastating fires, dialysis centers closing - we can't afford to lose State funding to connect our communities. Our doors will be open in Valentine, NE on April 23rd, from 11-2, to assist individuals with completing the short survey. They will be open in Alliance, NE on April 21st, from 11-2, for those who would like to join the Public Meeting via Zoom and complete surveys. OPT will be available through April 30, 2026, to answer questions and survey assistance. We appreciate your support. Thank you. (OPT: 308-761-8747)

Supporting other mobility options in our region, is part of what we do, and this is an amazing group to support! Congratulations, Northwest Nebraska Trails Association!

Bravo to Northwest Nebraska Trails Association for all their hard work in making this trail in Chadron a possibility.

The project highlights what’s possible when local partners and volunteers come together to expand access to biking and walking. Investments like this strengthen communities, support outdoor recreation, and create safer places for people to move.

Celebrate with them at the ribbon cutting on April 25 at 4:30 PM and recognize this community-led effort.
