Here is a quick checklist to keep your equipment running smoothly during peak summer days:

⚡ 1. Monitor Tire Pressure & Tread Daily
As ambient heat rises, air pressure inside tires expands. Already underinflated, worn, or overloaded tires face a much higher risk of sudden blowouts on hot asphalt. Always perform pressure checks before hitting the road.

⚡ 2. Check Your Cooling System & Fluids
Under sustained high heat, coolant levels drop and engine fluids break down faster. Inspect your radiator, hoses, and coolant levels before departure, and keep an eye on temperature gauges during long climbs.

⚡ 3. Keep an Eye on the Battery

➡️ PARKED! This year's special focus is on Drums & Rotors. A steady gauge won't hide deep surface cracks, heavy rust scale, or heat grooves on your drums.

➡️ PARKED! Under The 20% Rule, if just 2 out of 10 service brake assemblies on a standard tractor-trailer have an issue (like an audible air leak or over-traveling slack adjuster), your rig stays grounded on the roadside.

Some people see a GPS route; our drivers see a chess board. Avoiding bad asphalt, unpredictable merge bottlenecks, and endless construction cones is an exact science—and honestly, a bit of an art form.

People ask what it’s like to watch over the Rakmark fleet day in and day out.

From up here - perched on the side of our rigs, flying parallel down the interstate - you get a pretty unique perspective on life on the road.

While everyone else sees miles, loads, and deadlines, I see the stuff that actually makes this job special:
