Want to visit someone at the gate without getting on a plane?

Gateside by TSA PreCheck is available to people who are eligible to access TSA PreCheck screening, including TSA PreCheck members, certain federal employees, and other trusted travelers.

Apply online one to three days before your visit using your Known Traveler Number. Once approved, check your status in the Gateside portal before coming to the airport and bring an acceptable ID.

There is no separate paper or digital Gateside pass. You may need to show the TSA Officer your approved status directly in the portal on your mobile device. Screenshots and printouts are not accepted.

Availability may be limited during peak travel periods.

We’re excited to celebrate the opening of a new 79,000-square-foot wide-body aircraft paint hangar and additional materials storage building at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport!

Through a lease agreement with the airport, International Aerospace Coatings (IAC)'s new hangar brings new revenue opportunities to the airport, new jobs to Amarillo, and helps keep the aircraft of the world's airline fleets looking their best.

The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, marking an exciting milestone for our airport and the Amarillo community.

This type of development and additional aviation activity is very important for the future of the Airport. Most airports our size don't have a huge international company painting commercial aircraft from all over the world, but we do here in Amarillo.

It's an amazing operation with some amazing people. We’re proud to continue our longstanding partnership with IAC and look forward to the positive impact the new hangar will have on our airport, the local economy, and the aviation industry!

The State Fair of Texas wraps up October 18, which means this is the final weekend for the midway, livestock shows, live music, and the annual Texas tradition of asking, "They fried what?"

You don't need a plane ticket to meet someone at the gate anymore.

Beginning October 2, Gateside by TSA PreCheck will be available at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport.

Eligible TSA PreCheck members can apply for a Gateside pass and, once approved, go through security to meet arriving passengers, walk family or friends to their gate, visit someone during a layover, or enjoy dining and shopping beyond security.
