It's still warm everywhere right now, but we're starting to think about January when the Panhandle wind is cutting through everything you own.

Scottsdale and Tucson will be 70 degrees in winter, with some of the most beautiful fairways in the country just waiting to be walked. Desert landscapes, mountain backdrops, and a round of golf that ends with a sunny patio and nowhere you have to be.

Book your golf trip now before the first cold front reminds you why you need to get away.

Nobody misses the chaos of a big airport. The sprinting through terminals, the crowds, the "did I read that gate number right?" panic.

Walking through the doors at AMA, you're going to find exactly what you'd expect from Amarillo. Friendly faces, short lines, and a gate that isn't a two-mile hike from the front door. In and out, easy as that.

Come fly with us!

Good news, the airport's water has been restored.

We are currently without water at the airport due to a water main break. Our crews and the city are on site working to restore service as quickly as possible.

If you are flying today, we ask that you use restroom facilities before heading our way and make any arrangements you need ahead of your arrival.

We appreciate your patience and will post an update here as soon as our water service is back on.

In 1903, Orville Wright stayed in the air for 12 seconds. That first flight covered 120 feet (shorter than most gates right here at AMA). Not a bad start for something that would change the world.

The Texas Panhandle has a long aviation story. In 1929, Western Air Express brought the first passenger service to Amarillo, connecting this corner of the country to the rest of it. By the 1940s, Amarillo Army Air Field was training thousands of airmen and mechanics, many of whom went on to serve in World War II. The runway they built, all 13,502 feet of it, still ranks among the longest civilian runways in the United States.

These days, over 800,000 travelers a year pass through Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. Happy National Aviation Day.

Someone coming into town who wants to see the real Amarillo?

▪️Start with lunch at the Big Texan if they’ve never been. Caz’s Chowhouse if they have.
▪️In the afternoon, go full tourist and take them to Cadillac Ranch. Don’t forget the spray paint.
▪️Catch a breathtaking sunset at Palo Duro Canyon.

Then head to AMA and fly them out nonstop to wherever they’re going next.

We sure do love Amarillo!

There's still time for one more of those travel smiles.

Throw a bag together and go.
