state of Alaska. Constructed in 1951 as Anchorage International Airport, it was renamed by the Alaska Legislature to honor former long-standing U.S. Senator Ted Stevens. In addition to passenger traffic, ANC is also a major cargo hub and, as of 2010, ranks as the fifth busiest airport in the world by cargo traffic, after Hong Kong, Memphis, Shanghai, and Seoul. Most major U.S. passenger carriers serve ANC.

Parking is limited at ANC today. Our long-term parking lot is full, and short-term parking is nearly at capacity.

Please consider using the North Terminal Parking Lot or private parking options, including Dimond Airport Parking and Alaska Airport Parking.

Allow extra time to find parking and make your way to the terminal so you can get to your flight on time. Safe travels! ✈️

TSA Gateside launched at ANC! ✈️

The new program allows eligible TSA PreCheck® members to access the airport terminal beyond security without a flight, giving them the opportunity to spend time with friends, family and fellow travelers.

It’s also a great way to enjoy ANC’s dining and shopping options. We’re excited to welcome TSA Gateside participants to the terminal!
