Since the completion of the main line of track in 1923, the Alaska Railroad has served as a full-service railroad and vital transportation link to ports and communities throughout Southcentral and Interior Alaska. In the summer months, the Alaska Railroad operates three daily passenger trains as well as a five-day-a-week flagstop train. Popular destinations include Denali National Park, Seward, Fa
irbanks, Spencer Glacier, Talkeetna, Whittier and more. On board, passengers may choose from two classes of service: comfortable appointed Adventure Class, or premier glass-domed GoldStar Service. Local tour guides and freshly prepared meals ensure a memorable onboard experience to complement the incredible views of Alaska. The Alaska Railroad also offers passenger service in the winter months, operating the Aurora Winter Train between Anchorage, Talkeetna and Fairbanks. Separately, the Alaska Railroad also offers year-round freight service, serving as a critical transportation link for the state's economy.
