Kudos to the GWB team!

Big news for based aircraft: the Airport Authority Board has officially approved construction of 18 new T-hangars, to be built just east of the current east-side rows.

Construction begins soon with Shawnee Construction and Engineering, Inc. leading the project. Because we must remove the aging west-end hangars in 2026, this gives us a net gain of 3 new units. We’ll share timelines, renderings, and progress updates as they become available.

The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority is proud to announce that Bombardier has officially announced plans to open a brand new Service Centre here in Fort Wayne!

Bombardier’s new 64,500 square foot facility will be at Fort Wayne International Airport, and will expand the company’s Midwestern footprint by supporting its long-term Services growth strategy. The facility will provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul for Global and Challenger aircraft, creating approximately 100 new jobs by 2026.

The Airport Authority was thrilled to welcome Bombardier Leadership to make the announcement along with Governor Mike Braun, Secretary of Commerce David Adams, Mayor Sharon Tucker, and John Urbahns from Greater Fort Wayne Inc. A number of local leaders and community partners were also in attendance.

We look forward to a long and strong partnership!

This Aviat Pitts Special stopped in on their way to the U.S. National Aerobatic Championships in Salina Kansas! They were generous enough to demonstrate the smoke capabilities that are common during an aerobatic performance!

A very nice touchdown by the C-54 crew! This historic aircraft, a key player in the U.S. military during the early Cold War, is now stationed at the rear of our ramp and will be on display until July 17th.
