Here’s why it matters:

💧 Water left in the engine block can freeze and crack it — a repair that costs far more than winterizing itself
⛽ Old fuel left sitting all winter can gum up your carburetor or injectors by spring
🔋 A battery left connected can drain and degrade over the off-season
🛢️ Skipping a fall oil change means contaminants sit in the engine for months

The days are getting shorter, and it’s a good time to start thinking past Labor Day. 🌇 Here’s your end-of-summer checklist before boating season winds down:

☑️ Note any engine issues you noticed this summer so your tech can address them before storage
☑️ Check your boat cover or canvas for tears before you need it for winter
☑️ Clean and dry all life jackets and safety gear before packing them away
☑️ Wash and wax the hull now — it’s easier before storage than after
☑️ Remove personal items, electronics, and perishables from the boat
☑️ Check trailer tires and bearings if you’ll be hauling for winterizing or storage
☑️ Start thinking about whether you want indoor or outdoor storage this year
