I’ve been thinking all day about how to write up something to show our pride in our son, Dylan.

Dylan is one of those kids that lights up a room when he walks into it. He’s always kind, fun, empathetic and puts forth his best efforts in everything he does. He follows rules, watches over and protects his friends, his sister, and even his sisters friends. He shares in people’s joy and comforts them and shares in their pain. He thinks of everyone as a friend and hopes everyone thinks of him the same way. He sees the good in everyone, even when it’s hard for others to see. It’s something as parents we see, and we try to nurture- but it’s really just him and who he is. Born that way.

Today, we proudly watched as his peers and teachers recognized him and another classmate for these qualities. Ten fifth graders were nominated by their peers for the Panther award and 2 were chosen to receive it. The award recognizes students tenure from K-5 and how they exhibit qualities like respect, responsibility and kindness- core values to the school. Seeing Dylan stand in front of his whole school as one of the two recipients of this award fills our hearts with joy. Knowing that this young man achieved this simply by being himself is something we hope he will carry with him forever.

Great things are in store for you, Dylan. Keep being you. We are so incredibly proud of you.

There’s just something different about seeing your kid meet a character they truly love.

The rides are fun, the food is great, but moments like this are what make Walt Disney World special. Watching her run up to Moana like she was meeting a real-life hero is the kind of memory I’ll never forget.

It’s not just a trip. It’s the smiles, the excitement, the hugs, and those little moments your kids will talk about for years.

These trips go by fast. The kids grow up fast too.

Take the trip. Make the memories.

Today is about celebrating the moms who make the magic happen. The planners. The comforters. The memory makers. The ones carrying backpacks, wiping tears, covering ears during fireworks, and somehow still making every trip feel special.

To my wife — thank you for being the heart of our family. You make every adventure better, every hotel room feel like home, and every Disney memory more meaningful. Watching you experience the magic through our child’s eyes is one of my favorite parts of life. You are patient, selfless, loving, and the reason our family vacations become memories we’ll talk about forever.

To my mom — thank you for giving me a childhood filled with love, experiences, and memories that shaped who I am today. So much of why I value family travel and time together comes from you. The older I get, the more I appreciate every sacrifice and every moment you created for us.

And to my mother-in-law — thank you for always supporting our family, loving us endlessly, and helping create the kind of family environment where memories can grow. The best vacations aren’t just about destinations… they’re about the people who make them feel special.

Today I’m especially thankful for all the Disney moms out there. I’ve worked with a few Disney Dads, but the majority of our clients have been the moms. It’s mostly the moms waking up early for rope drop, packing the snacks, and coordinating the dining reservations. The moms calm overtired kids, and smile through it all because seeing their family happy means everything to them.

You are the real magic behind the magic.

Currently traveling in the Netherlands and am once again reminded how the global reach of Disney. Beyond this sign, there was also a violinist playing the Pirates of the Caribbean theme outside the famous RUKS museum, as well!

We have Disney Kids and I’m a Disney Dad and it always starts there.
