As the sun slowly sets on Compass Cove,
The sky turns gold, orange, and mauve.
The water shimmers with a gentle glow,
Reflecting the beauty that surrounds us below.

The calming serenity of this peaceful scene,
Fills my heart with gratitude, joyful and keen.
My soul is touched by the beauty of this sight,
This precious moment, a moment to hold tight.

The sun, like a burning ball of fire,
Sinks slowly, as if to never retire.
The birds chirp sweet melodies in the breeze,
I enjoy the freshness of the warm summer freeze.

As the day fades away into the night,
I take a deep breath, feeling alright.
Grateful for this moment, I am filled with awe,
Being here, on this lake, with Nature's grandeur I saw.

With gratitude in my heart, and love in my soul,
I watch as life's journey continues to roll.
Thankful for every single day that I've secured,
Each moment in life is precious, of that I am assured.

So I'll keep this sunset close in my memory,
And cherish it for all eternity.
