It is called Echo's digital platform developed by Sipa to bring Industry 4.0 into the world of PET containers. It is a digital ecosystem that connects people, businesses, suppliers and customers in an open environment to bring value to all the chain operators. The platform is not a simple technical portal, as it allows interchange of products, services, skills, information and knowledge from a fully horizontal knowledge sharing point of view, enhancing synergies, enhancing business, and maximizing productivity.
Echo aims to foster the growth and development of the PET containers sector through the active participation of professionals in a vision that is inspired by the utmost transparency, accessibility and usability. In a world rich in data, information and knowledge utilizing and putting into system, in a lean approach, these elements to create value is the company's goal through Echo. The project is part of Sipa's ECO2 program to promote, through technologies and know-how, a sustainable business model focused on energy recovery, waste reduction and logistics optimization. Thanks to its smart and digital approach, Echo embodies perfection in the ECO2 philosophy as a tool to increase the performance of companies in a respect for the environment.
A space for customer service
Echo's heart and soul, the Customer Lounge collects all the data and key information of the machines that make up the Sipa park. Thanks to the type of product processed and the customer's production needs, the ecosystem profiles users to propose the services needed to improve their production targets, such as maintenance interventions and technological improvements to be applied to plants or new products, as well as tracing and making it visible to all the requests received and received, to intercept machine problems, to request technical assistance, and to always have access manuals online with spare parts lists to optimize delivery of parts. Additionally, by comparing the machine efficiency KPIs with industry benchmarks, it is possible to analyze each single function with the aim of producing bottles as efficiently as possible. All through immediate, fast usage, built around the user's needs, which with just a few clicks can have access to information and performance indicators to improve productivity.
A virtual market
Inspired by sharing economy principles, Echo is a place where every user is at the same time a customer and supplier because he can sell or buy spare parts for Sipa machines, but also offer and buy services. The goal is to create an agora that allows direct meeting and open sharing among users, eliminating intermediaries in trade, and thus reducing costs and minimizing waste.
A community of professionals
The new Sipa project is set as a benchmark for users' knowledge and experience sharing. Two sections of the platform are in this direction. Packaging Design, in fact, is the part devoted to the exchange and enhancement of inputs by users regarding product design. A digital space where preforms and bottles statistics are structured in an open database, serving the search for new solutions for PET containers. Users can share their experience and illustrate the latest container evolution by networking new bottleneck design trends, their weight, performance and size for each different use destination (water, juices, etc.) . News, updates, training
The digital ecosystem is also a tool to promote online training of operators. In a dedicated section, Sipa's customers can access ad hoc content to deepen the operation of the machines, know about methodologies and updates so that they constantly increase their baggage of technical skills. Users can also exchange ideas, opinions, and suggestions through a forum where they can independently create discussion groups on topics of particular interest. Finally, there is a news section that allows Echo to provide up-to-date, relevant and useful information and news to users.
