We're looking to hire drivers for the 2026–2027 Sugarloaf Winter Season! Help keep the Sugarloaf Explorer rolling through Carrabassett Valley all winter long.

The Explorer is a flex-route shuttle serving the mountain condominiums and surrounding areas, bringing riders to the Sugarloaf Base Lodge.

If you’ve got a Maine Class A, B, or C license (with “P” and air brake endorsements where needed) and a clean driving record, we’d love to have you on the team.

• Wear something bright or reflective if you’re out walking or biking after dark.
• Look both ways before crossing near a bus stop.
• Give buses plenty of room when they’re pulling into or leaving a stop.

Did you know “bus” doesn’t actually come from “motor bus”?

The word goes all the way back to the Latin word "Omnibus", meaning “for all.” When public transportation started catching on around the 1830's, omnibus eventually got shortened to the much simpler “bus.”

So, in a roundabout way, every time you hop on the bus, you’re using a word that means “for everyone.” Pretty fitting, if you ask us.
