Why should you donate? http://www.budandersonfundraiser.org/Donation.html
Having risked his own life flying 116 missions in defense of his country, Colonel Anderson can truly be classified as an American hero. He does not promote himself or look for self aggrandizement. He is a man of good manners willing to talk with and befriend the most common person on the street while still able to hold his own with our most successful business owners, politicians and celebrities. Colonel Anderson is the embodiment of the model American citizen having dedicated his life to his nation and never once asking for anything in return. Now that he has reached the age of 91, it is time for us to recognize him and to thank him for all that he has done for us as a nation. How will the donations be used? The majority of the donations received will be used to cover the expense of creating a sculpture of Colonel Anderson and his aircraft. The artist, Mr. Douglas Van Howd, will not profit from this project other than to recover his material costs and labor costs for his employees. Should we collect donations in excess of the cost of the sculpture they will be allocated in one of two ways:
1. Fund for Ongoing Sculpture Maintenance
A fund will be established to ensure that the sculpture will be properly maintained going into the future. This fund will be donated to and administered by the Public Works Department of the City of Auburn.
2. Auburn Airport Association Scholarship Fund
Donations exceeding the above requirements will be re-donated to the Auburn Airport Association Scholarship Fund. This is a non-profit fund which is used to provide monies to student pilots who might otherwise not have the resources to learn how to fly. What you recieve for your donation:
