Strawberry Fields Paints and Drafts We started giving rides about 25 years ago, you can see us at several public events on the Iron Range. We also hire out for private rides.

Baled our last bale tonight! Now to get ready for Honktoberfest in Biwabik on Saturday from 10-2. We will be giving rides from the community center again. Come out and meet Echo. His first time doing in town rides.

Raining all day over 3/4 inch. This is the hard weather for horses. Still have summer coats and temps didn’t get above 55 and windy. So riding horses and babies came in shivering drafts are usually ok, but they throw more body heat so they all get to stay in tonight to dry off and get warm. Nothing to do tomorrow? We will have a barn to clean lol.

Getting ready for Wirtinen farm this weekend. Great way to spend the day with family. 10-4 food petting area crafts and many things to explore. Free entry donations are very appreciated. Going to try and bring one of the babies with their mom. See which ones will get in the trailer. See you there.

Starting a little separation from moms. They were ok for about 10 mins then panic set in but a little grain and they settled down. Won’t wean them for another month or so. Should be a little easier this time they get along so good they will have each other for company.

Been busy plowing for a couple weeks now. But babies and herd are doing well. They stay in the barn all day and out at night so the horse flies don’t eat them up. They are growing fast.

I haven’t posted for a few weeks, we have been dealing with Pearl. She has been sick for a few months and the vet figure...

I haven’t posted for a few weeks, we have been dealing with Pearl. She has been sick for a few months and the vet figures it’s cancer. She isn’t eating much and so thin. We are putting her down today. We bought her in 2020 from a second chance lot, they were going to ship her for slaughter. So glad we found her she is such a sweet mare and did anything we asked her to. Going to miss her here.

And there’s Ruby she has been trying grass for a little while now and grain and hay. Look how big she is getting too. ...
