Warbirds over Oregon Experience the thrill of strapping on a parachute and flying the most famous trainer of the World War II era

Experience the thrill of strapping on a parachute and flying the most famous trainer of the World War II era. Your flight can consist of anything from a laid back photographic flight over the Willamette Valley wine country to a full transition course complete with basic aerobatic maneuvers! Thousands of pilots trained in an AT6 and transitioned directly into the fighter aircraft they would fly in

combat. She is known as “the pilot maker” for a very good reason. Equipped with a 600HP Pratt and Whitney 9 cylinder radial engine, she is capable of performing all the standard flight maneuvers used in military transitional training. The next step was aircraft such as the Grumman F4F Wildcat, F6F Hellcat, Republic P47 Thunderbolt, Chance Vought F4U Corsair and North American P51 Mustang. Jim is a professional pilot and flight instructor who has accumulated a total of 8100 hours flight experience over the last 30 years. Born into a family with a strong military flying background (Uncle Kenny, WWII Army Air Corps flight instructor; Uncle Dave, WWII Army Air Corps B17 crew chief; Uncle Bill, Korean War era U.S. Air Force B25 bomber pilot) it’s only natural he would own and fly a WWII era aircraft

For he last few months I've be working with a new warbird owner, who has purchased a Harvard Mark IV from a local operator.
This aircraft, serial number CCF 466, was one of approximately 500 built by Canadian Car and Foundry under an agreement with North American Aviation. These where the last new Texan/Harvards built, the last 270 going to the RCAF as unarmed trainers.
Unfortunately, this aircraft has not been flown regularly for years, and has suffered the consequences, as well as some "interesting" maintenance practices.
At any rate, she has spent the last few months at Vintage Six Aviation, located at the Aurora State Airport, undergoing extensive repairs to return her to an airworthy status.
I was able to perform as test flight last week. A few additional squawks to be attended to, and we will start transitional training with Mr. Kris Nace.
Another "old babe" will be returning to the sky!

I don't think it gets any better!
