As adults, we went to Debucks Family Farm for the sunflowers, however, there’s a whole family event going on that looks super fun (the giant tube slide was tempting). Even on a cloudy, sprinkly day, the colors were amazing. There is an entrance fee and then if you want to leave with flowers, there are multiple size vases for an additional purchase (mason jar being the smallest) and you are given scissors and you cut what you like.

The Ford House, home of Eleanor, Edsel Ford and their two kids, is a Tudor revival 30,000 square feet house with 60 rooms located near Detroit, MI. We took the self guided tour and were able to see all of the main floor plus the family bedrooms upstairs. Different than most houses, this house was not built to entertain guest, the family built it just for them as a private getaway from the Ford Motor Company. My favorite part was Josephine‘s Playhouse, which had a real working kitchen (she was 7 when it was gifted by her grandmother, so, she never went here without supervision), a mini grand piano and a replica family tea set. They built the Playhouse near the guard station, as an armed guard had to be near the kids at all times, during the Great Depression. The house is right on the lake, and there were plenty of people boating, right up to the house.

We are enjoying tasting the flavors at Annie G’s Dairy using the milkbot (I want to add “2000”). Never seen this before, however, it’s so fun! So far the orange creamsicle is our favorite.

We took a stroll through Michigan States Hidden Lake Gardens. Located in the Irish Hills, this botanical gardens features a long one way scenic drive, a gift shop, numerous hiking trails, several conservatories and this Sky walk through the trees. It’s really a beautiful stop with a lake and picnic tables.

We’re walking the other direction until these babies are hatched. And while I know this was a warning, I commend the dancing and give the show 10 out of 10. Still amazed these birds lay eggs in small holes on the ground.
