Stronger together

The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce Mixer hosted by First Texas Bank at Southern Roots Brewing Co., brought local business owners together for an evening of networking and connection. This is where Killeen's business community engages and supports one another.

Freight is moving again.

Dry van spot rates just posted their biggest gain for this week of the year since 2008: up 12 cents to $2.25 a mile, per DAT.Diesel is easing too: down to $6.20 a gallon (EIA, week of Oct 5), off the late September record.

FreightWaves reports at least 16 transport companies, including two Texas carriers, filed for bankruptcy in late August and September. We will continue to manage and improve our margins to stay moving.

Not every delivery fits in a standard box.

These large PVC pipe fittings are oversized and awkward to move, but they still have to arrive on time and in good condition. That is the kind of freight SAR of Killeen handles across Central Texas: materials of all shapes and sizes, moved with care and delivered on demand.

Monday note: USPS and banks are closed today for Columbus Day. We are running: call us for on-demand delivery across Central Texas.

A successful delivery is more than getting from Point A to Point B.

It’s about what happens before the vehicle ever moves.

The planning.
The communication.
The attention to detail.
The ability to anticipate what could go wrong and prepare for it.

In transportation, the smallest details can have the biggest impact on the final outcome.

At S.A.R. of Killeen, we believe every route is an opportunity to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence.

When your business is moving, every mile matters.

Funny?

Yes. But here’s the real story behind the joke.
Fuel prices in the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood area as of today:[aaa]

•Regular: $3.88 a gallon, up from $2.64 a year ago. That’s about 47% more.

•Diesel: $5.59 a gallon, up from $3.10 a year ago. That’s about 80% more.

•What it means: filling a 25-gallon tank with regular now costs about $97. Last year it was about $66.

It’s not just Central Texas. The national average for diesel was $6.38 a gallon the week of September 28, $2.63 more than a year ago.[eia]

Every delivery we make burns fuel, and lately fuel costs a lot more. At SAR of Killeen, we still show up on time for our office, medical and manufacturing customers across Central Texas.

So yes, Love’s, we’ll take it down when you lower your prices.😆🤷🏽‍♀️
