No beautiful beaches or destination weddings in this post… just an incredibly creative solution that could help protect the places we all love to visit. 💚🌎
One of the things I love most about being a travel advisor is that I’m always learning.
Whether I’m researching resorts, destinations, or travel trends, I genuinely enjoy finding interesting things to share. And every once in a while, I come across something that makes me stop and say, “Now THAT is incredible.”
If you’ve vacationed in Mexico or the Caribbean, you’ve probably heard of sargassum, the seaweed that has become a challenge for many beaches.
Well… instead of just fighting it, innovators in Quintana Roo asked a completely different question:
What if we could build with it?
They created SargaBlock, construction blocks made in part from collected sargassum. 🤯
Even more exciting? The idea is now being replicated in Ghana, proving that a local solution can inspire change around the world.
As someone who loves Mexico and spends so much of my career helping people experience its beauty, stories like this make me incredibly hopeful. It’s a reminder that the people who call these destinations home are constantly working to protect them, improve them, and think outside the box.
Travel is about so much more than beautiful beaches. It’s about the people, the culture, the innovation, and the incredible things happening behind the scenes.
I absolutely love stories like this. 💚🌎
