Nothing Wasted Food Recovery Network

Nothing Wasted Food Recovery Network Helping to reduce food waste and hunger in Baltimore City. The most important element in this effort is the coordination of food pick-up and delivery.

The Nothing Wasted Food Recovery Network is working towards ending food waste in the Greater Baltimore Area by:

1) Collecting edible food that is being thrown away from grocery stores and events.

2) Distributing this food to shelters, soup kitchens, and food pantries. Many businesses and events waste nutritious food, because they are not sure where to take left-overs. Even when this food is dona

ted, some shelters and food pantries may not have the storage capacity to take on large amounts of perishable food. This uneven distribution of food may also lead to food waste. By coordinating donation drop-off times with shelters, Nothing Wasted hopes to not only save food, but also allow shelters/food pantries/soup kitchens to anticipate these donations.
