World Record 1 of 4 — presented by Atlas World Records

Vroom Old Man (Patrick J. Cornell) has officially been recognized by Atlas World Records for an extraordinary motorcycle endurance achievement: riding at least 1,000 miles every single day for 72 consecutive days.

📍 47 contiguous U.S. states
🏍️ 72 consecutive days
🛣️ 72,534 independently corrected miles
⏱️ 1,000+ miles — EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

But this ride was about more than setting a record.

❤️ It was a ride for a cause — to raise awareness for Myotonic Dystrophy and help shine a light on those living with this rare and challenging disease.

Every mile carried a purpose. Every day represented determination, endurance, and a commitment to bringing greater awareness to Myotonic Dystrophy.

And this wasn’t based on a simple honor system. The achievement underwent extensive documentation and review, including GPS tracking, odometer data, route records, photos, logs, receipts, and independent endurance certifications.

The journey ultimately came to an unexpected end on Day 73 following a broken rim and accident that resulted in a broken collarbone.

But 72 days of maintaining a 1,000+ mile daily pace is an accomplishment that speaks for itself.

72 days. 72,534 miles. 47 states. One incredible journey — ridden for a purpose bigger than the record. 🇺🇸🏍️💪❤️

The next Forge The Ride is almost here.

10 days. ~3,400 miles. Georgia → Colorado → Georgia.

Four Corners, Mesa Verde, Lizard Head Pass, Telluride, CO-141, Black Canyon, Ouray, Million Dollar Highway, Silverton, Wolf Creek Pass and Great Sand Dunes.

Some bucket-list roads, a lot of history, and a whole lot of miles between here and there.

September 19. Ready to get rolling.

The next Forge The Ride ride is almost here.

Ten days. Roughly 3,400 miles. Georgia to Colorado and back.

I’ve been working on this route for a while, and it’s finally coming together.

Four Corners. Mesa Verde. Lizard Head Pass. Telluride. CO-141. Black Canyon. Ouray. Million Dollar Highway. Silverton. Wolf Creek Pass. Great Sand Dunes — with a whole lot of road in between.

Some of these roads have been on my list for years. I’ve also been digging into the history behind a lot of them — old mining and toll roads, abandoned uranium towns, railroad history and some pretty interesting stories about why these roads and towns are here in the first place.

In a few weeks, Forge The Ride heads west to take on some of Colorado’s most legendary roads and unforgettable towns.

The miles are only part of the story.

There will be incredible roads, unforgettable scenery, great people, local shops, and hopefully a few unexpected moments along the way.

Over the last few years, two wheels have taken me to some incredible places.

The mountain roads, the coastlines, and the scenery are unforgettable. But the part I never expected to appreciate most was everything in between—the people, the small towns, the local shops, and the stories you only find when you slow down and take the long way.

Every trip reminds me that the destination is only part of the journey.

Here’s to the miles behind us… and the ones still waiting ahead.
