Sun Aug 30th update/schedule for Sept:

Hello folks,

Our mechanic will be checking out the issue this evening and diagnosing the issue and hopefully will have it fixed in a day or two.

Capt Toms trip report for last weds tog, trigger fluke trip.

Blackfish was good on one spot, was drop lock n reel and was the first time 3 of them ever caught a blackfish. Unfortunately they ended up with 59 shorts and most just missed the keeper mark. The also lost one big trigger fish at the boat. They moved onto fluke for the last two hours of the day and ended up with 40 shorts and 1 18” keeper and dropped another 22-24” fish at the boat. It is how the story goes sometimes. He also had bunch of gulp bit up by blowfish and caught a jumbo one as bycatch as well. They ran into bluefish and kept a handful and released a pile as well.

Well over 100 fish day between tog, blues and fluke. Can’t ever go wrong with that at all.

The pm plug trips should just keep getting better and better as the bluefish are hot n heavy right now and the stripers are also beginning to get here in numbers for the fall run now. Fish to 38” have recently been caught on plugs in our area.

The blowfishing has gotten hot and heavy and will start doing more of that as well too.

8/18 trip report:

Hello folks,

We had one of our favorite types of trips this afternoon. Get the kids out on some fish! With one goal in mind, the group wanted to try blowfish/croaker fishing for 3 hrs. Great choice! First spot we set up on we had blowfish coming right over the rail right away. Lots of smalls but the kids had a blast and were playing with them in the “aquarium” (our live well) for a few minutes before throwing them back in. It was already a success as everyone caught some blowfish and had 9 or 10 jumbos to the surface but only 6 made it in the boat and around 6 to 8 smaller seabass. Capt Frankie still has his instincts and decided to make a run after over a little of a hour.

We stopped on the second spot and before we had the chum pot over had croakers nailing the baits. The kids with the trout rods absolutely had a ball fighting 11 to 14” croakers. For the next hour. Had a handful of smaller blowfish there but no keepers for us. Just 18 quality croakers that went home. We cut it early by a half hour bc of the rain but the job was successful.

Thanks for coming everyone and we are glad to have had the girls all catch fish in short work.

Sat 8/15 pm plug report/ new schedule:

Hello folks,

Capt Frankie reports a wild night on our pm plug trip last night. The highlight was seeing two bullsharks over 8 to 10 ft long feeding on something in the shallows. Tried to hook it on a popper for some laughs but never even looked at it. Also had dolphins and rays around us at times too. Back to the fishing. Took a ride right away and waited for the tide to switch and as soon as it did we had chaos bluefishing for over a hour. Fish up on top chasing bait but were hard to hook the first half then it was good. After the guys had there fill in a crowded area we went off on our own and went hunting. We tried for stripers and had 3 hooked up but all three came off. We ended up finding more blues by ourselves into the evening and stayed a little late hoping the bass would turn on but they never did last night. All in all a great trip landing over 10 blues to 6 lbs and keeping some for the table for the 3 man crew on light tackle. Had fish on poppers and sp minnows last night.

Looks good for upcoming trips and as the water temps and tides should start to slowly dip down as we approach into Sept and fishing should get red hot.

Thanks for coming guys!

Capt Frankie also used his new 9” dexhand knife from Capt Chris Dossantos from Sea Owl 🦉 and it is the best knife he has ever used. Never sharpened it one time last night and cut like butter. Thanks Chris and Dexhand for finally making a knife that we all used to use back in the day reappear and perform even better than the original!

Sun Aug 9th update and upcoming trips:

Hello folks,

Today we had a small two man group that we sailed with on our 5 hr fluke trip today. Capt Tom reports a good start to the day but seemed to have slowed as the day went on with water temps on the outgoing as high as 84 degrees. John and Joseph went to work each having a keeper while putting 30 plus shorts on the deck in areas that Capt Tom hasn’t fished in a long time looking for some bigger fish today. Could have went and got 70 to 80 short fish in other areas but chose to go on a hunt. It worked out as fished hard had 4 over 17.5 that just missed and 2 for the table.

Thanks for coming guys! Hope to see you again.

Yesterday Capt Tom took out a few buddy’s in search if tog and triggers for the first time of the year as we will start targeting them Friday this week on special trips. Lo and behold he found what he was looking for banged away at togs catching over 30 in short time before running out of bait and found his trigger.

It looks great for upcoming trips and as this water starts to creep down after this heat wave it should only get better.

We have heard of double digit blowfish catches this week so it’s almost time to start the hunt for those tasty morsels.

Upcoming schedule this week is a pm plug trip wed pm and we have a perfect incoming tide so we are excited about this one.

Fri am tog n fluke trip is sold out

Fri pm plug has 1 spot remaining

And Saturdays tog n fluke trip is still wide open.
