I wanted to take a quick minute and acknowledge the collective loss this world and the Buffett family have suffered. Mr. B was loved by so many. The outpouring of love for him makes me so happy. He deserves all of it and more. My wife Sarah wrote a post that I want to share, because it’s perfect and I can’t say it any better:
“We’re going to keep our memories with you close in our hearts and carry them with us forever. You showed us things we never would have seen on our own, took us places some people could only dream of going, put friends in our lives that have become our family and trusted and loved us in so many different ways. You might have asked who gets to live like this but we were the lucky ones, all because of you. - Sarah LaSorsa “
That sums up exactly what I feel and would want to say.
I have read this Jimmy Buffett quote many times the last few days, and I want to share: “Grief is like the wake behind a boat. It starts out as a huge wave that follows close behind you and is big enough to swamp and drown you if you suddenly stop moving forward. But if you do keep moving, the big wake will eventually dissipate. And after a long time, the waters of your life get calm again, and that is when the memories of those who have left begin to shine as bright and as enduring as the stars above.
