Ok it’s a little long, but at some point we’ve all been there!
As deer season approaches look forward to being out in nature! Just think in 2 more days you will get up way earlier than you normally would, sneak into that stand that you set up in the perfect spot, get set, put everything just where you need it! The Thermacell Outdoors Thermacell Hunting will be taking care of those pesky no-see-um and mosquitoes! The rifle or bow at the ready! The cell phone silenced and charged to get that perfect photo of the kill of that trophy buck! Everything just right! The sun starts to rise and out in the shooting area you think you see something your heart starts racing, nerves, quickened breathing, sweaty palms you take you binoculars and find it’s a random tree you didn’t notice or the clump of weeds that popped up out of nowhere in a plowed under field! You whisper some words you wouldn’t say in mixed company! That buck fever has you now and the slight glimpse of any deer including a fawn with spots it hits you again! You sit for hours with no luck! Now you gather all your stuff and you are drenched with sweat because by 10am it’s already 89 degrees! You look at your watch and decide it’s time to go so you quietly and slowly ease out your stand and just as both feet are firmly on the ground at 10 sharp! CRACK BOOM a shot that you know is the sound of a hit! Your phone vibrates and you look to find your buddy sends you a photo with a message that shows he killed that buck you have been stalking for months before the season come in and that’s why you set up your stand where you did! The insult it when you read the message and he tells you I got up late didn’t get here till 9:25 saw where you were at went to the area to the left of you got in the stand realizing the cartridges were laying on the seat in the truck climbed down went to retrieve them got back in the stand sat down dropped one and it pinged off every piece of metal on the stand on the way down! But you didn’t hear it did you? (You want to answer no because I was too far away!) I looked up and to my right this massive buck walked out and I dropped him like a bag of rocks! Can you believe it? Do you mind giving me a hand loading it up? You are fit to be tied and wasted all that time for your friend just to waltz in at the last minute like a bill in a China Shop and kill “your buck” on opening day! Well you stuck it up, congratulate your friend while (blessing him out in your head), help him after taking several photos of him with it! And get in your vehicle and drive head hanging low to think how you wasted all that time planning, scouting, waiting and he comes in and the deer is just handed to him all but in a silver platter!
