We love August & September because it's when our early planners reach out for next summer travel, which is generally perfect timing for most trips. But there are a few exceptions where 12-18 months is actually the sweet spot.

One of the exceptions? An African Safari.

This month alone we've had 3 requests for this type of experience, and nothing makes me happier. You may know us for our love of the Mediterranean, but if there's one trip I would tell everyone to make at some point in their life, it would be an African Safari.

These 3 trips started with a similar inquiry — "we want to go to Africa and see the animals." But the end result will be 3 completely different experiences.

Trip 1: a solo traveler and last minute plan for December. Focused on the totally offbeat: Gorilla Trekking in Uganda, tracking lions, Chimpanzee sanctuaries, a local fishermen excursion, village immersion with the Samburu in Kenya, and more. The mission: the more unusual, the better. Challenge accepted!

Trip 2: a bucket list trip for a couple looking to expand beyond their usual luxury resort travel, while still maintaining all the comforts and familiarity of home. It's a break from the crush of work so privacy is the priority, despite the Great Migration timing. We'll be combining Kenya and Tanzania for that perfect first safari experience in East Africa.

Trip 3: another couple, this time in career transition. Animals, of course...but also culture. Something wow, something different, something with a real sense of place. Willing to be surprised and guided so the experience feels authentically African but with enough luxury to feel pampered. I'm going to have fun with this one.

An African safari consultation is a different approach altogether. To ask the right questions, you really need to have been there. And these came at the right time as I just put the finishing touches on my own return trip for next year to celebrate turning 40. We're taking the kids and our parents for everyone's first time and to relive our honeymoon memories from almost 13 years ago. 😲

If you've ever considered a safari but are nervous or skeptical — let's talk. I'm sure I can make you a believer!🌅

In three weeks I board a plane bound for Sicily and I get to do what I love most: host a small group of extraordinary people through one of the most beautiful destinations in the Mediterranean.

My job is to make sure they settle into the journey from the moment they arrive and never have to think about anything except being fully present for the experience.

That's what our small group journeys are built for.

And while I'm counting down the days to Sicily, we are officially opening the 2027 adventure!

For our next Olive & Atlas Small Group Journey, we are trading turquoise waters for mountain peaks and heading to...the Dolomites, Italy!

It's intimate, it's magical, and it's totally different.

When we say small, we mean it. There are just six spots available on this trip and only three remain.

The Dolomites is the kind of landscape that makes you understand immediately why people can't stop talking about it, and why it calls to something inside us.

It's breathtaking.

It's so beautiful it hurts.

And I swear it almost feels unreal, even when you are standing in the middle of it, observing with your own two eyes.

All of our trips are built to touch your heart, but the Dolomites will move your soul.

If something in this is speaking to you, don't sit on it. We'd love one of those spots to be yours.

DM us DOLOMITES for more info! 🏔️

The Kimberley has been unchanged for more than 40,000 years. A day there might mean riding a Zodiac through its ancient gorges, hiking along its shores, and somehow ending up with a mimosa in hand on the way back. Some days in Western Australia are hard to explain to anyone who wasn't there.

The sea lions look like they're performing. The iguanas look like they're posing. Nothing in The Galápagos is doing either — they just live like this, and travelers get to watch.

Most people don't know penguins live on three different continents. Antarctica is the obvious one. Africa is the one that surprises people. And then there's the Galápagos, which, on reflection, makes perfect sense. Three continents, one bird, all worth the trip.

The view changes every few days. The feeling of watching the world go by from the deck never does. Norway, Antarctica, Japan — there's no better seat for all of it than a cruise ship deck.

In Antarctica, the ship isn't the biggest thing in frame. That's the point.
