Thomas Dixon, owner and driver, started America Fast Trucking, LLC in September 2021 fulfilling a long time dream to travel across the country and be his own boss.

A little over one year ago, circumstances and life, maybe even God at work, had a way of stopping us in our tracks. Most of you know, the last week of November 2023 was that exact thing. A stopping point.

You just never know what is around the corner. That doesn't mean you give up. It might just be a change in direction. A shift, a pivot. It's been a season of waiting and reflection, thinking of next steps.

Thank you to everyone who has been there for us along this journey, especially in the last year. We don't know what the future holds, but still hang on to the hope of more dreams to come true.

A little update .

Tommy spent a beautiful weekend in North Carolina. Went to visit Fort Macon. That pic of him in the corner… IYKYK 😆! So creepy!

And that giant load on his trailer was quite a mess delivering today. Hauled it across country burning tons of fuel. It’s funny, but the military loads tend to be the most disorganized. Lots of weight on the trailer. The trailer has seen better days. It may be time to get some repairs done or invest in a new one. I told him today he chose quite possibly the most expensive and stressful business .but in reality, owning a business of any kind will stretch you! Rewarding and challenging!

He’s headed home this week for one quick day. Running a business , especially one like this, is not easy! I think we both have grown so much closer to the Lord! Trusting in His provision. One day at a time. I know for myself I have gotten much stronger. And Tommy has learned too many things to count!

There are days when you think, how? Days when you just want to throw in the towel if one more thing goes wrong! But then you have a beautiful, breezy cool day at a beach in North Carolina to reset and refocus. The office view is not too bad!

One day I’ll go with him. See what he sees. But for now, we can enjoy the view from pictures and imagine. Prayers always appreciated !

Before leaving beautiful North Carolina, Tommy took a FaceTime walk with me so I could see actual Fall leaves changing! He found a beautiful rest stop to explore. He has enjoyed driving out East this week.

Then headed off to Virginia , Alabama, and Tennessee. He’ll be home again this weekend to grab a load in Galveston.

New Mexico to Florida . This is two different loads. Even managed to squeeze a third load on.

Headed to Florida, traveling through Houston meant one night at home.

We have hit 200 loads. Actually 208, but we've been busy. Thankfully.

Just like in life, a business has its ebbs and flows. We are approaching the 2 year anniversary of starting America Fast Trucking. 2 years, 200+ loads, 200,000+ miles. Hundreds of cities. Major truck repairs to minor. Too many tires and gallons of diesel to count! High fuel prices in 2022, wild economy, and time away from home. Then the engine fire. Insurance claims and new leases. Still awaiting word on the final decision. It has been a wild ride. Some days are easy, some companies run well oiled machines and things go smoothly. Some days are hard where deals can't be made and payments are slow. Some days are full of sights and sounds of new places and some days are just nose to the ground getting things done.

What a journey it has been. Highs and lows. Blessings and lessons. I am so proud of Tommy and all he has done to build this business and support our family. He and I both have grown in unexpected ways. Who knows what the future holds, but for now, I want to shout out Tommy and all his efforts! This is not for the faint. Phew!!

As you are out and about, running errands and living life, when you see a truck, may that remind you of Tommy and I ask you send up a little prayer for him. That would mean a lot!

Thank you for supporting our family and our business. Here is to 100 more loads!! And safe travels! May God go before him and around him on the highways and byways of the USA!

Tommy delivered a load to a maximum security prison in Romulus, NY. Very interesting. He couldn’t enter until the morning count was complete. Then he had to be searched and his phone and personal items taken. Prisoners and Employees both unloaded the washers and dryers from his trailer. He had good convo with the guard at the gate! You just never know where you’ll end up!

The night before, he was in Ovid, NY for the evening and walked around the quaint town. He came across an old cemetery, which I love to explore, so he face times me and I grabbed some shots. we enjoyed a “sunset walk together.” It was really a beautiful place.

Sometimes I get to ride along and get snacks for helping wash the truck! Well, Tommy did the hard part! Washing the truck is a constant chore!
