Often the best weather and calm winds come just before sunset. This was the case yesterday May 12, 2026 when Nolan Haddad changed is life forever by flying Cherokee N56578 by himself around the traffic pattern at Somerset Airport. Nolan joins the ranks of aviators that have served as "Pilot in Command" of an aircraft in our skies. Nolan was encouraged by his CFI, Alexei Tartakovski who monitored the entire flight from the ground. Nolan, congratulations on a great job!

Omar Morel completed his journey to becoming an instrument rated pilot on May 11, 2026. It was a beautiful day, but he didn't see any of it (he flew wearing foggles, to prevent his ability to look out the window). Omar did a great job, congratulations!

On a beautiful April 27, 2026, Levi Jennings flew Cherokee N38809 around the traffic pattern at Somerset Airport solo, exercising his new privileges as an FAA licensed Student Pilot. His instructor, Christopher Richardson, was on the ground with a radio in his hand to witness the flight, but he didn't have to use the radio, other than to say "good job".
