Historic & record breaking water levels are definitely playing with our spring workload.
We have begun spring cleanups with hopes to finish asap.
We've also begun spring dock installs, and we are finding that water levels are high enough, even in non flooded lakes, that risk to your dock system from further rising levels and/or wave action is high. We will install those we feel are safe, and come up with a plan for the others. Remember, your dock may not have enough adjustment to make it safe at the current water level, so waiting the level out may be what's best. When the level becomes safe, we will be working diligently to install all customers docks, but this will not happen overnight.
Please remember, everyone in our area is being affected by this, some far more than others, so let's be thoughtful of those who are losing their homes more so then those whose dock install might be a bit delayed.
REMOVE ITEMS ON CHAIN OF LAKES SHORELINES
BELLAIRE, Mich. – Items currently on or near a Chain of Lakes shoreline could be in danger of being pulled downstream by rising flood waters. Every item that is pulled into moving water could become a hazard to the Bellaire Dam, the Bridge Street culvert in Ellsworth, or the Elk Rapids Hydrodam and spillway.
Dock sections, picnic tables, trailers, boats, swing sets: all have the potential to be carried downstream by the unusually high and fast-moving water. Please protect your personal property by moving it as far away from rising water as possible.
