Sign up for Sailing Basics at Lakewood! (Link in Bio) ⛵️ Summer Student Sailing Lessons cater to students from Bellingham’s colleges and universities.
Schedule:
Wednesdays July 15 – Aug 5 (Lessons occur Wednesdays for 4 weeks. 4:00p-7:00p )
or
Sat/Sun August 8-9 & 15-16 (Lessons occur every Sat/Sun for two weekends. 11:30a-2:30p.

This series of four lessons will take you through the basics of sailing smallboats. Lessons are taught by student Boathouse Instructors and consist of a series of 4-6 lesson days at Lakewood. To request a fee waiver for your registration fee please reach out to us at [email protected].

Transportation Info:
A free vanpool to/from campus is available (Wednesday sessions only). Students must opt into this at registration. Bike, bus, or drive to the weekend sessions. 512 leaves Bellingham station at 10:20a and arrives at Lakewood at 11:05a.

Currently enrolled WWU students rent paddlecraft and small sailboats for FREE for up to two-hours each visit. 😎 Rental fees for NWIC, BTC, WCC students are low-cost. Staff/Faculty and Alumni (with required Friends of Lakewood membership) can pay per boat use every visit or purchase an unlimited pass for the whole boating season.

The Boathouse has over 70 rentable watercraft including:
Single and Double Kayaks (sit inside and sit on-top) | Stand-up Paddleboards (SUPs) | Canoes | Pedalboats | Windsurfers | Laser and RS Quest sailing dinghies | Catamarans | 22’ Keelboats
