Central OR peeps: In a webinar this week, ATC asks those flying VFR with ADS-B near Deschutes VOR / KRDM to monitor Seattle Center on 126.15 and squawk 1237 instead of 1200. Their explanation is that for 1200 targets, their displays don't show the ADS-B provided N-number until there's a traffic conflict. By squawking 1237, it will show your N-number and they can blind call you on 126.15 to alert you of traffic before it becomes a conflict.

The Central Oregon airspace and the airports of Redmond Roberts Field (RDM) and the Bend Municipal Airport (BDN) have experienced tremendous growth in traffic over the past few years. The flying community is a diverse mix of flight schools (helicopter and light aircraft), high performance turboprops...

Friends of Bend Airport (FOBA) your advocate for General Aviation at KBDN, and we need YOUR SUPPORT!

If you are a private pilot or business located at the Bend airport, you have ALREADY benefited from the hard work from the FOBA team who challenged the HUGE rent increase based on a frivolous appraisal. As a result the Bend airport management walked back rent increased by 30 - 75%. If approved by city council on December 16th, YOU WILL SAVE hundreds to thousands of dollars per year!

The fight isn't over and there are significant formation and legal costs associated with this formation. Please consider donating to the FOBA GoFundMe linked below.

Friends of Bend Airport (FOBA) is a registered non-profit organization.
