As 2023 nears to an end, I can’t help but to be incredibly proud of my men and how much we have grown this year. They say you’re only as strong as your weakest link, and I can say without hesitation that we are unbreakable! What you see below is just one example of why I feel this way about my men.
This man was in so much pain and couldn’t get in or out of bed because the adjustable frame was sitting to high off the ground. I had stopped by to do a quote and after talking a bit to the wife and caregiver, they had no choice but to ask if I could help him to bed. He had already fallen earlier in the morn and 911 had to be called to get him. So I agreed to help and realized that the legs could be unscrewed and it would lower by about 6 inches to allow for an easier transition in and out. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this till I had already helped him in the bed. Anyone who has dealt with these type of frames know just exactly how heavy they can be (without a 250 lbs man laying in it). It was late in the day and I knew one of my crews had just gotten back to the warehouse so I made a call and one of my guys Steven said he was on the way. After using his own body to brace the bed to lift it up by crawling under it and removing a few of the legs (while the man remain lying on it). We went and got a car jack from the wife’s car and lifted the other side so we can accomplish the task at hand. This picture shows this gentleman placing his hand on Steven’s head and telling him how grateful he was for helping him. The man told him he loved him and Steven replied back “I love you too, now get you some rest” then stood up and gave his wife a hug and actually thanked her for letting us help them. We then loaded back up and went home. I was there for a quote, and hours later left with such an amazing feeling of so many emotions going through my mind once I snapped this photo. To know even after a hard days work, my guys would come help a complete stranger in need made me so proud to have this group of men by my side to go into battle with at a moments notice!
